UFC lightweight Beneil Dariush is ready for one more title run ahead of his battle with Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 322. For the longest time, Beneil Dariush has been an interesting contender in the UFC’s lightweight division. Unfortunately, he’s never quite been able to earn a title shot, but he’s certainly some close. As we look ahead to the immediate future, the 36-year-old likely has one more big run left in him at 155 pounds – and his latest hopeful path to gold started with a win over Renato Moicano this past June.

A new bout has been added to the UFC 322 card. RMC Sports Combat first brought word that a 155-pound tilt between Beneil Dariush and Benoit Saint Denis has been booked for the Nov. 15 card. For Saint Denis, it’s a chance to make his way to the top 10 rankings. As for Dariush, he wants to keep his hold at the No. 9 spot against the No. 13-ranked Saint Denis.

However, a showdown with Renato Moicano at UFC 311 was set to provide him with a chance to get back on the winning trail.

Dariush is scheduled to share the Octagon with Renato Moicano inside the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California on January 18th. At the age of 35, Dariush is hoping to avoid his third loss in a row. He spent all of 2024 away from competition, and a win over Moicano would certainly serve as a major confidence boost for the soon-to-be 30-fight veteran.

Dariush hasn’t fought since a knockout loss to Arman Tsarukyan at UFC Austin back in December. He lost back-to-back fights in 2023, including a TKO loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC 289 that halted his lightweight title shot bid.

The defeat came in the first round, and it served as the second loss of the year for Dariush following his defeat to Charles Oliveira in June. Now, at the age of 34, it appears as if Dariush is questioning his future in the sport of mixed martial arts.
