But, now, his father, John Fury, revealed in an interview that they are in talks with Roy Jones Jr. to box Tommy Fury.

Four years after suffering a first-round stoppage loss to ‘Darth’, the rematch went the same way. In the main event of Bellator 290, Fedor Emelianenko suffered a first-round knockout loss.

The former UFC title challenger left the promotion following a submission win over Tony Ferguson last September. Following that victory, Nate Diaz became a free agent for the first time in a decade and set his sights on a boxing match. While briefly linked to Logan Paul, he will instead face Jake Paul tomorrow night in Dallas.

This was the first boxing match to take place in the metaverse. The virtual experience has been widely panned on social media. For starters, Jones is a legend in the fight game but at the age of 54, many believe he shouldn’t be in the ring competing even if his opponent has no prior boxing experience. Another issue some viewers had was the quality of the visuals.

In the co-main event, the Brazilian faced Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza. The bout was a rematch of sorts, as the latter defeated Belfort by first-round TKO back at UFC 198 in May 2016.

Roy Jones Jr. called for a “dream” boxing match against former UFC superstar Anderson Silva and broke down how the potential fight would go. Jones and Silva have been connected to a fight for many years, but the fight was never possible because UFC president Dana White would not let Silva out of his UFC contract to do boxing. White also said he would refuse to promote a boxing matchup between the two. Now that the 45-year-old Silva has been released for the UFC, he’s able to sign with any promoter, whether it be in MMA or boxing. If he’s open to going back to the boxing ring, where he previously competed last in 2015, then the 52-year-old Jones is all over it.

The recent boxing card from Triller headlined by Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. sold 1.6 million PPVs, confirmed the event’s promoter. Tyson came out of a 15-year retirement to take on Jones Jr. in the main event of a big boxing card last weekend at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Despite both fighters being in their 50s, they put on a great fight for the fans and fought to a draw after eight rounds. The co-main event was even more memorable, as Jake Paul knocked out former NBA star Nate Robinson in a devastating fashion. Rapper Snoop Dogg and several other hip-hop stars also contributed performances, making it a show packed with star power.
