BKFC president says if Paige VanZant doesn't re-sign "it was a good ride and a good decision," but still open to extending her contract

David Feldman isn’t ruling out Paige Vanzant extending her contract with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. VanZant shocked many when she fought out her UFC contract and signed with BKFC. However, she has lost both of her fights with promotion, suffering losses to Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich. Since her second loss in July of 2021, she hasn’t fought since. But, Feldman hopes the former UFC fighter will return in February at KnuckleMania 3.

Houston Alexander is open to taking a boxing fight and has two names in mind. Alexander – who is 50 years old – is coming off another knockout win in BKFC as he is 3-0 in the promotion. The veteran has also competed for the UFC, Bellator, KSW, and many other promotions but he has never had a pro boxing fight.

BKFC president David Feldman plans to get make a bid in the Nate Diaz sweepstakes. The Stockton native fought out his UFC contract in September. While he was originally slated to face Khamzat Chimaev in his final bout, ‘Borz’ badly missed weight, causing the promotion to change plans. As a result, Diaz faced Tony Ferguson instead.

Houston Alexander improved to 3-0 in BKFC as he scored a second-round KO win over Joey Beltran. Alexander was headlining the event in his adopted hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, and dominated the fight from start to finish. He ended up scoring a second-round TKO over Beltran as he says the fight played out exactly how they thought.

BKFC star Paige VanZant continues to find work outside of the bare-knuckle boxing ring. ’12 Gauge’ has been out of action since her decision defeat to Rachel Ostovich last July. The defeat was a devastating one for the former UFC star, as it dropped her to 0-2 in BKFC. She was previously defeated by Britain Hart in February.

Former UFC fighters Houston Alexander and Joey Beltran collided in tonight’s BKFC 33 main event in Omaha, Nebraska. Alexander (17-16-1 MMA, 3-0 BKFC) entered the contest sporting a 2-0 record in Bare Knuckle boxing. The 50-year-old veteran had most recently competed in May of this year, scoring a first-round TKO victory over Jay Fish.

Women’s featherweight contender Paige VanZant is set to return to the bare-knuckle ring. ’12 Gauge’ has been out of action since her decision loss to Rachel Ostovich at BKFC 19 in July 2021. That defeat set VanZant back to 0-2 in the bare-knuckle boxing promotion. She had previously lost to Britain Hart in February of that year.

BKFC veteran Julian Lane suffered a brutal knockout loss at the hands of Vlad Tuinov at this weekend’s Pravda FC boxing event. Lane (12-10-1 MMA, 4-7 BKFC), who is well known for his antics as a cast member on Season 16 of The Ultimate Fighter, squared off with kickboxing veteran Tuinov in Friday’s Pravda FC co-headliner in Russia.

UFC veteran Ben Rothwell squared off with Bobo O’Bannon on the main card of tonight’s BKFC 30 event in Monroe, Louisana. Rothwell (39-14 MMA) had parted way with the UFC earlier this year after going 3-2 over his past five Octagon appearances. ‘Big Ben’ had most recently competed in the Octagon in November of 2021, where he suffered a TKO loss to Marcos Rogério de Lima.

John Dodson made his Bare Knuckle boxing debut at BKFC 28 and led the way in disclosed salaries. Dodson was in the co-main event against Ryan Benoit and made quick work scoring a 40-second KO. However, it was a surprise Dodson even went to BKFC as after his UFC departure he was fighting in MMA and expected to continue to do that until BKFC gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Mike Perry is hoping to fight Nate Diaz in BKFC. David Feldman, the president of BKFC, recently came out and said he is interested in signing Nate Diaz. The Stockton, native, of course, recently fought out his Ultimate Fighting Championship deal at UFC 279 when he submitted Tony Ferguson. The goal for Feldman is to sign Diaz and have him fight Mike Perry.

Ben Rothwell will make his bare-knuckle boxing debut with BKFC later this year when he battles Bobo O’Bannon. The man known as ‘Big Ben’ was released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship earlier this year ahead of a proposed match-up against Alexander Gustafsson, noting the following during an interview with Ariel Helwani.
John Dodson "wasn't surprised" with 40-second KO over Ryan Benoit in BKFC debut, hopes for quick turnaround in bare knuckle or MMA

John Dodson said he was going to KO Ryan Benoit in his BKFC debut and he did just that. In the co-main event of BKFC 28, Dodson scored a 40-second KO win against Benoit and although it was a sub-minute KO, he still was a bit disappointed with it. The only reason why Dodson was disappointed is due to the fact his brother Eric also made his BKFC debut on the card and got a 23-second KO on the prelims.
