Former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez was shocked by the nature of Ilia Topuria’s knockout win over Charles Oliveira. As we know, Ilia Topuria is rapidly turning into the biggest star in mixed martial arts. In addition to his heroics down at featherweight, he’s now become a two-weight world champion after knocking out Charles Oliveira in his last outing. As you can imagine, that was enough to raise quite a few eyebrows – even from those who were previously doubting him.

Eddie Alvarez broke his jaw in his stoppage loss to Jeremy Stephens at KnuckleMania 5. Alvarez entered the bout as the favorite, but early on, Stephens landed a massive punch that appeared to hurt Alvarez. The former UFC champ had a hard time overcoming Stephens’ power and was even dropped. After the third round, Alvarez’s corner stopped it and he took to Instagram to reveal it was because his jaw was broken.

BKFC welterweight contender Jeremy Stephens is now a free agent after beating Eddie Alvarez. ‘Lil Heathen’ and ‘The Underground King’ met in the main event of BKFC KnuckleMania V over the weekend. Heading into the matchup, Jeremy Stephens was riding a two-fight winning streak, previously scoring wins over Jimmie Rivera and Bobby Taylor. Meanwhile, Alvarez hadn’t been seen since a knockout loss to Mike Perry in late 2023.

Alvarez had a memorable five-round war with Chad Mendes, which he won via split decision back in April 2023. He’d end up being outgunned by Mike Perry later that year, falling short via TKO.

The “Notorious” one acquired minority ownership stake in BKFC and he’s teased possibly going one-on-one with Mike Perry.

Eddie Alvarez has made his prediction for a possible rematch between UFC lightweight titleholder Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan. Makhachev and Tsarukyan had a competitive showdown back in 2019. Makhachev emerged victorious via unanimous decision. While Makhachev has gone on to become a UFC champion with three successful title defenses, Tsarukyan hasn’t done too bad either, going 9-1 since that encounter.

Makhachev defeated Poirier by fifth-round submission in the UFC 302 main event on Saturday in Newark. While it was an impressive finish by the pound-for-pound king, Poirier put on a better showing than most expected against the dominant titleholder.

Trout certainly knows his stuff when it comes to the sweet science. He has shared the ring with the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotto, Jermall and Jermell Charlo, and Erislandy Lara. Trout even defeated Cotto via unanimous decision back in late 2012. He has taken that experience to blossom in bare knuckle boxing, recently capturing the BKFC Welterweight Championship.

The potential damages could enter the billions if they lose in court, with the main claim being that they purposefully bought out competitors while driving down fighter pay.

In the battle of two former UFC bruisers competing for the symbolic “King of Violence” title, “Platinum” emerged victorious. While Alvarez had his moments, it was clear that he was slowing down near the end of round two due to the damage Perry dished out. Before round three could begin, Alvarez’s corner stopped the fight.
