Jiri Prochazka has released a video statement following his TKO loss to Alex Pereira in the main event of UFC 295. Prochazka and Pereira competed for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship on Saturday night (November 11). Jamahal Hill vacated the 205-pound gold due to a ruptured Achilles. Prochazka, who had to vacate the light heavyweight title himself, was looking to become a two-time champion. It wasn’t meant to be this time, as Pereira dropped Prochazka with a counter hook and followed it up with elbows to the head. Referee Marc Godard had seen enough waved the fight off.

Tom Aspinall is shooting for the stars after earning the interim UFC Heavyweight Championship. Aspinall dazzled MMA fans with his sensational first-round knockout victory over Sergei Pavlovich. After blasting Pavlovich with a right hand, Aspinall landed another that dropped his opponent. Some follow up punches on the ground and this one was over. Aspinall is now an interim UFC champion.

UFC CEO Dana White has reacted to Alex Pereira calling out his rival Israel Adesanya. Pereira added the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship to his mantle on Saturday night (November 11) at UFC 295. “Poatan” scored a second-round TKO finish after dropping Jiri Prochazka and elbowing him until referee Marc Goddard has seen enough. While the finish has been debated online, Prochazka himself said he was out at one point during the blitz from Pereira.

Mackenzie Dern is in good spirits following her UFC 295 TKO loss to Jessica Andrade. Dern was hoping to score a big win over a former UFC women’s strawweight champion inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. Things did not end the way Dern envisioned. Andrade returned to form with her devastating power punching. While Dern hung in tough, she ate some clean shots and was dropped before the referee had seen enough and called a halt to the fight in round two.

Jon Jones has congratulated Tom Aspinall following his knockout victory over Sergei Pavlovich at tonight’s UFC 295 event. Aspinall (14-3 MMA) squared off with Pavlovich (18-2 MMA) for the promotion’s interim heavyweight title this evening at Madison Square Garden. The bout was put together on short notice, this after reigning heavyweight champ Jon Jones was forced to withdraw from his slated title fight with Stipe Miocic after suffering a torn pectoral tendon in training.

Pereira (9-2 MMA) squared off with former light heavyweight champion Jiri Procházka (29-4-1 MMA) for the promotion’s vacant 205lbs title in the headliner of tonight’s UFC 295 event at Madison Square Garden.

The Octagon returned to Madison Square Garden for tonight’s UFC 295 event, a thirteen-bout fight card headlined by Jiri Procházka vs. Alex Pereira. The highly anticipated light heavyweight title fight proved to be the thrilling back and forth affair that most fight fans were hoping for. Alex Pereira got off to a strong start thanks to some heavy low kicks, but Jiri Procházka was able to score a takedown midway through the opening round and was able to control the Brazilian from the position. Then, in round two, Procházka appeared to hurt Pereira with a big flurry. However, ‘Poatan’ found a home for his classic left hook which quickly turned the tide. After landing some heavy elbows to the head, Pereira sent Jiri crashing to the floor. The referee quickly stepped in and called a stop to the action.

Aspinall (14-3 MMA) was returning to action for the first time since headlining July’s UFC event in London, where he scored a 73-second stoppage victory over Marcin Tybura. The Manchester native had gone an impressive 7-1 over his eight career Octagon appearances ahead of tonight’s event.
