O’Malley improved to a perfect 12-0 record so far in his MMA career including a 4-0 mark in the UFC. He’s defeated Wineland, Jose Quinonez, Andre Soukhamthath and Terrion Ware so far in the Octagon as he’s quickly become one of the most popular fighters in the sport. And now he wants to get paid what he’s worth.

UFC president Dana White reacted to Conor McGregor’s surprising announcement that he is retiring from mixed martial arts following UFC 250. McGregor sent out a Tweet immediately following last night’s pay-per-view card that indicated he is planning on retiring. It’s not the first time McGregor has sent out a Tweet saying he is retiring, and every time he has said in the past he’s hanging up his gloves he’s eventually returned to the Octagon.

Current UFC interim lightweight title holder Justin Gaethje took a shot at Conor McGregor after the Irishman announced his retirement this evening. Shortly following the conclusion of tonight’s UFC 250 broadcast, McGregor took to Twitter where he announced that he would be retiring from the fight game.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz has called out ‘The Rock’ Dwayne Johnson in defense of United States President Donald Trump. If you recall, earlier this week the former WWE wrestler turned Hollywood megastar, Johnson, took to social media where released a video attacking Donald Trump for his handling of the George Floyd death and the subsequent protests and outrage.

The UFC’s BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal joined SportsCenter this evening to ask some questions of his current employer. Masvidal recently revealed that talks for a welterweight title fight with Kamaru Usman had broken down, this after the UFC allegedly wanted him to take a pay cut when compared to his most previous contest with Nate Diaz.

UFC legend Anderson Silva sent a video to former rival Chael Sonnen where he once again expressed how serious he is about a superfight with Conor McGregor. Silva shocked the MMA community recently when he called McGregor out for a catchweight superfight. Considering McGregor has fought the majority of his career at 145lbs and 155lbs and Silva has fought mainly at 185lbs and as high as 205lbs, most fans raised an eyebrow when they saw the callout. But Silva said he wanted to fight at a catchweight at 176lbs, which he believes is marketable, and McGregor has been fighting recently at 170lbs. So perhaps the callout isn’t as crazy as it seemed at first glance.

Dana White has responded to Jorge Masvidal’s claim that he wants his UFC release. On Friday, Masvidal sent several tweets to voice his frustrations about his pay and told the UFC to release him. He is just the latest fighter to complain about fighter pay. Jon Jones went on a Twitter rant about that. Henry Cejudo, meanwhile, retired but said if the promotion paid him more, he would return.

Mike Winkeljohn says if Jon Jones does move up in weight to fight Francis Ngannou it would be the end of his light heavyweight tenure. For weeks now, Jones and Ngannou have been talking about fighting one another. Recently, however, pay has been an issue for the light heavyweight champ. He then said he was going to retire and vacate the belt, which coach Winkeljohn said to BJPENN.com is 100 percent true.

Dana White says that UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes is now entering “Tom Brady status” in regard to her accomplishments. Brady, the former quarterback of the New England Patriots and the newest member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is one of the most accomplished athletes in sports history. He has been to nine Super Bowls and led the Patriots to six of them, making him arguably the single-most successful player in NFL history. Brady is also a personal friend of White and so comparing Nunes to him shows how strongly White feels about his female champion.

UFC president Dana White confirmed that the winner of the UFC 250 bantamweight bout between Aljamain Sterling and Cory Sandhagen will get a title shot. Aside from the main event between UFC women’s featherweight champion Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer, Sterling vs. Sandhagen is the most important fight at this weekend’s UFC 250 card. And now, according to the UFC bossman during the UFC 250 pre-fight media scrum, the winner of this fight will be getting a title shot at 135lbs.

On Friday afternoon, Masvidal took to Twitter to share his frustration with the stalled negotiations for a welterweight title fight with Kamaru Usman. He began by daring the UFC to release him from his contract if they’re not prepared to pay him what he’s worth.

On Saturday night, the UFC will return to our screens with UFC 250, an under-the-radar pay-per-view emanating from the promotion’s APEX facility in Las Vegas. UFC 250 will be headlined by a women’s featherweight title fight between champion Amanda Nunes, who also holds the promotion’s bantamweight strap, and challenger Felicia Spencer. The bout will mark Nunes’ first defense of the featherweight title since she captured it with an unforgettable knockout win over Cris Cyborg. Three-time UFC light heavyweight title challenger Alexander Gustafsson is ending his retirement and moving up to the heavyweight division. According to a report from Combate, Gustafsson is targeting a return to action on July 25 on the UFC’s widely discussed Fight Island. The frontrunners for his comeback fight, per the report, are former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum, and former interim light heavyweight title challenge Ovince Saint Preux.
