Coach of Sean O’Malley, Tim Welch, has named Aljamain Sterling as ‘the most dangerous’ bantamweight champion in the division’s history. Still, he’s confident his student has the tools to overcome the current bantamweight kingpin. O’Malley has risen the ranks to earn an opportunity to catapult his career into further stardom when he meets with Sterling for the bantamweight strap. UFC President Dana White announced the fight will take place at UFC 292 in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 19 at UFC 292.

Former UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman doesn’t think the judges will be needed if he fights Khamzat Chimaev. Usman and Chimaev have expressed interest in colliding inside the Octagon. “The Nigerian Nightmare” told ESPN that it’s a fight that has him intrigued, but he suggested the bout be contested at a catchweight. Chimaev took to his Twitter account to tag Usman in a post with a few money bag emojis. Usman’s response was positive, and he has since doubled down.

At UFC 290, Robert Whittaker and Dricus du Plessis will collide in a huge middleweight encounter. With both men riding a huge wave of momentum, the expectation is that the winner will go on to fight for the UFC middleweight championship. At this time, of course, the belt is once again held by Israel Adesanya.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Demopoulos was forced to leave Fight Ready and in the process of picking a new gym, she went to Factory X in Denver, Colorado, and loved it. She felt a great family atmosphere and she knows training at elevation will only help her game that much more.

Alex Pereira has opened as the underdog for his upcoming fight against Jan Blachowicz. In the co-main event of UFC 291 on July 29 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Pereira is set to make his light heavyweight debut against former champ, Jan Blachowicz. It’s a tough test right away for Pereira who is coming off a KO loss to Israel Adesanya back in April to lose his middleweight title.

Dustin Poirier opened as the betting favorite ahead of his UFC 291 BMF title fight against Justin Gaethje. On Tuesday, UFC president Dana White announced that Poirier and Gaethje will headline UFC 291 in Salt Lake City, Utah for the BMF title. The fight will go down on July 29 in a fight that fans have wanted ever since they fought back in 2018, where Poirier won by fourth-round TKO.

Ben Askren has an issue with the UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones following his recent remarks directed at Francis Ngannou. Following the announcement that Ngannou would sign a record-breaking deal with the PFL, Jones quickly poked jabs at the former UFC heavyweight champion. Earlier this year, Ngannou revealed he wouldn’t re-sign with the UFC and would test the waters of free agency.

Jon Jones is still taking shots at Francis Ngannou. This week, it was revealed that Ngannou signed with the PFL after being a free agent for a few months now. The news was disappointing to many fans as it means that Ngannou vs. Jones won’t be happening. It was also frustrating for Jones who has been vocal about his displeasure with Ngannou for leaving the UFC and still claiming he’s the baddest man on the planet.

UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling has a supporter in Colby Covington. Sterling may be the 135-pound ruler, but some feel the “Funk Master” hasn’t gotten the respect he deserves. Count former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub in the camp of people who don’t believe Aljo has been given his due, as he mentioned during “The Schaub Show” (via MMA Knockout).

Angela Hill has had just about enough of the UFC rankings system. Hill is scheduled to be in action this Saturday night (May 20). She will headline UFC Vegas 73 opposite Mackenzie Dern inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s a chance for Hill to jump from her number 14 spot on the official UFC strawweight rankings. After all, Dern is the eighth-ranked UFC strawweight. Hill isn’t optimistic about her standing.

Cody Stamann plans to appeal his loss to Douglas Silva de Andrade at UFC Charlotte. In the first round with just under two minutes, Stamann got a takedown and as he was on the ground, de Andrade landed an illegal up-kick. The ref then called time to make sure Stamann was okay, but instead of resetting the position or taking a point, the ref stood them up and de Andrade went on to win the first round.

Conor McGregor has proof that he broke his toes just three weeks prior to his bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov. After McGregor lost to Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 by fourth-round submission, he claimed his foot was a balloon which many thought was an excuse. Since the loss, he has also doubled down on having suffered a foot injury just three weeks prior to the fight.

Ian Garry got a new tattoo following his KO win over Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Charlotte. Garry was set for the toughest test of his career on the main card of UFC Charlotte as he was taking on Rodriguez who was ranked 15th at welterweight. When the fight was booked, many thought it would be a tough fight for Garry, but the Irishman got the win with ease as he landed a head kick and finished Rodriguez with ground-and-pound in the first round.

Ray Longo, the head coach of Aljamain Sterling, says the UFC prematurely announced his fighter’s title defense against Sean O’Malley at UFC 292. After Sterling defended his bantamweight title for the third time at UFC 288 with a decision victory over Henry Cejudo, O’Malley came into the cage to faceoff with the champ. Following the staredown, O’Malley said he wanted to get the fight done as soon as possible while Sterling said he was dealing with a few injuries and wanted September.

Conor McGregor had a tough time dealing with his UFC 229 loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov. On Wednesday, McGregor’s new documentary ‘McGregor Forever’ was released on Netflix and the first episode was showing the build-up to his return fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov. The documentary showed off his intense training camp and parts of the fight, which McGregor ultimately lost by fourth-round submission.

On Saturday past, Smith and Walker met at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The light heavyweight contest was scheduled for three rounds after being demoted to the co-headliner, with Jailton Almedia and Jairinzho Rozenstruik taking the main event spot.
