Prior to that setback, ‘The Miner’ had earned a decision victory over Johnny Walker.

The Octagon returns to England for today’s UFC London event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Alexander Volkov vs. Tom Aspinall. Volkov (34-9 MMA), a former Bellator heavyweight champion, was last seen in action at UFC 267 where he scored a unanimous decision victory over Marcin Tybura. That win was preceded by decision loss to Ciryl Gane.

Cory McKenna had her eyes on the UFC London card to make her return. McKenna made her UFC debut back in November 2020 and beat Kay Hansen by decision. Since then, however, she has been dealing with injuries that have kept her out of the Octagon but will now return at UFC London against Elise Reed.

Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria have different reasons as to why they had a skirmish yesterday in London. On Tuesday at check-in day, Pimblett threw a hand sanitizer bottle at the head of Topuria, and punches were thrown. No one really knew why it happened but according to ‘The Baddy’ he said Topuria was the one who went at him so he reacted with throwing the hand sanitizer bottle. The Brit said he wasn’t going to risk his fight getting called off by punching him so throwing the bottle made the most sense.

Tyson Fury has sent a video of support to his former training partner Tom Aspinall. The British fighter is set to face Alexander Volkov in the main event of UFC London. The bout is expected to be the next big step in the career of the young prospect in Aspinall. However, before he was seen as one of the rising stars of the heavyweight division, he was a training partner of ‘The Gypsy King’.

Tom Aspinall will be headlining UFC London but it won’t be against his original opponent. According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Aspinall was originally supposed to fight Shamil Abdurakhimov. However, Shamil was pulled from the fight and the Brit will now face Alexander Volkov instead.

Leon Edwards can’t make sense of why his scheduled opponent for UFC London, Tyron Woodley, is calling out everyone except him. “Rocky” recently slammed the “clout-chasing” star for his callouts and believes he is “just lost”. On March 21, the British welterweight was expected to headline the UFC event in his home country in London. His adversary would be none other than the former welterweight champion Woodley. However, due to the threat of coronavirus, the event was canceled.

Regrettably, the coronavirus pandemic made this card impossible. The UFC briefly attempted to book a short-notice replacement card on US soil, but this plan also fell through.

Due to the chaos surrounding the sports world courtesy of the coronavirus outbreak, the UFC London card, scheduled for this past Saturday night, was called off with the UFC hoping to reschedule the event over in the United States.

Tyron Woodley has revealed why he is no longer interested in fighting Leon Edwards next. The former welterweight champion was scheduled to fight Leon Edwards this week in the main event of UFC London. Due to the looming threat of Coronavirus, this London card fell apart. Colby Covington offered to fill in against Woodley at the last minute on a relocated card on US soil, but Dana White was forced to cancel the event altogether.

It would have been his first Octagon appearance since losing his 170-pound title in 2019 to Kamaru Usman. However, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the UFC recently announced its decision to postpone its upcoming shows in London, Columbus and Portland.
