The ongoing feud between UFC middleweight champ Israel Adesanya and former welterweight champ Tyron Woodley isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. The pair first got heated when Woodley suggested he was interested in moving up to middleweight to fight Adesanya. Adesanya then responded, and they’ve been going back-and-forth ever since.

UFC welterweight contender Tyron Woodley has thrown shade at the promotion for protecting their “boogieman” Robbie Lawler. Way back at UFC 201, Woodley finally made his way to the top of the division when he knocked Lawler out to win the UFC Welterweight Championship. He held the title for almost three years before dropping it to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235 in a one-sided fight.

The May 9 event is intended to serve as the UFC’s big return after a brief coronavirus-related shut-down. UFC President Dana White has been adamant that, following this May 9 card, the promotion will produce events every weekend to make up for lost time.

Colby Covington has threatened to end Tyron Woodley’s life, leaving the UFC to “throw his dead body to the sharks.” The former welterweight champion, Woodley was scheduled to fight Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC London last month. The fight was eventually cancelled due to the ongoing threat of coronavirus. Now, “The Chosen One” has found a new target in the form of Covington. Woodley previously volunteered to fight the recent title challenger at UFC 249 on April 18, but claimed that his rival turned down the opportunity.

The event is slated to take place on April 18 but a location and venue has yet to be determined by the promotion. UFC 249 was originally scheduled to take place in Brooklyn, however due to the Covid-19 pandemic that option is no longer available.

On Monday morning, Khabib Nurmagomedov announced he is stuck in Russia and UFC 249 would most likely go on without him. Immediately, reports came out that Justin Gaethje was offered to scrap “El Cucuy.” Several other notable names also put their name in the hat. But, perhaps the most surprising is former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley saying he’ll fight Ferguson if the Covington bout doesn’t happen.

Colby Covington is hoping to partake in one of those big fights. Speaking on Twitter on Tuesday, Covington once again called for a fight with former welterweight champion and long-time rival Tyron Woodley. He also suggested a fairly unique setting for the fight: the lawn of the White House.

The postponed main event for UFC London between welterweights Tyron Woodley and Leon Edwards will be rescheduled according to UFC president Dana White. There was speculation the UFC could scrap the Woodley vs. Edwards fight and instead book Woodley against rival Colby Covington. Not so, says White. Woodley vs. Edwards is on, as are all the other fights from UFC London, UFC Columbus and UFC Portland that have been postponed. White says all those fights will happen at a later date.

UFC welterweight Leon Edwards has revealed the lengths that the promotion wanted him to go to in order to fight Tyron Woodley this past weekend. Due to the chaos surrounding the sports world courtesy of the coronavirus outbreak, the UFC London card, scheduled for this past Saturday night, was called off with the UFC hoping to reschedule the event over in the United States.
