It took the 21-year-old less than one minute to secure a submission win on his debut, putting all other flyweights on notice that he’s one to watch in the years to come.

Earlier this month, former title challenger Tim Elliott went into his PPV bout against Tagir Ulanbekov as a notable underdog. The inconsistent results he’d accumulated throughout his UFC tenure had many wondering whether or not he’d be able to hang with Ulanbekov but in the end, Elliott pulled off the upset and secured a decision win.

On the prelims of the card, Elliott and Espinosa were finally set to meet after the fight was rumored to take place for months. Throughout the fight, Elliott used his wrestling to take Espinosa down and control him. However, although he clearly won all three rounds, Elliott wasn’t happy with his performance.

Numerous UFC fighters including flyweight Tim Elliott have been suspended and fined after testing positive for marijuana. According to a report from Marc Raimondi of ESPN, the Nevada State Athletic Commission has officially suspended Elliott, UFC lightweight Luis Pena, and UFC light heavyweight Jamahal Hill after testing positive for marijuana following recent fights in Las Vegas. Both Elliott and Pena were fined 15 percent of their fight purses and also suspended for four-and-a-half months for having cannabis in their system for their recent fights against Brandon Royval and Khama Worthy, respectively. Elliot and Pena both lost those fights.

UFC flyweight Tim Elliott and UFC light heavyweight Jamahal Hill tested positive for marijuana and are now facing suspensions in Nevada. ESPN’s Marc Raimondi reported that both Elliott and Hill tested positive for marijuana in-competition during their UFC Fight Night appearances in Las Vegas on May 30. Elliott was submitted by UFC newcomer Brandon Royval, while Hill knocked out Klidson Abreu with a first-round knee. Both fighters have been temporarily suspended and are potentially facing nine-month suspensions. As well, Hill could see his victory being turned into a No Contest instead. According to Raimondi, USADA has not yet decided to take action on the matter.

He’s also looking to snap his two-fight losing streak, but for him, he says wins and losses no longer matter. Instead, he wants to win bonuses and be known as an exciting fighter.

Figueiredo is riding high since picking up a unanimous decision win over Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 240. It was a solid performance, but you can’t please everyone. His future opponent, Tim Elliott, was not overly impressed.

Since he won his gold medal for men’s wrestling and transitioned into MMA, Cejudo has gone 12-2. He was undefeated with ten straight wins until he ran into the undisputed king of Flyweight, Demetrious Johnson. Since then, Cejudo has coached season 24 of The Ultimate Fighter against Joseph Benavidez who he lost a very close fight to before now going on a two-fight win streak with big wins over Wilson Reis and Sergio Pettis.

A bantamweight scrap between former flyweight title challenger Tim Elliott and UFC newcomer Mark Delarosa kicked off tonight’s UFC 219 event in Las Vegas. Round one begins and Elliott presses forward quickly. Mark grabs a hold of his neck and drops for a guillotine. Elliott is able to escape and winds up in side control. He drops down a hammer fist. Delarosa rolls and throws up and armbar attempt. It looks deep. Tim is in some trouble here. Elliott is able to step over and escape. Mark attempts to scramble up but gives up his back to Elliott. Tim drops down some big shots from the position. Delarosa rolls and winds upon the bottom with Elliott in full guard. More shots from Elliott now. He grabs a hold of guillotine choke and proceeds to move to full mount position. Somehow Mark escapes the submission attempt and winds up back in half guard. Another scramble and round one comes to an end.
