Sean O’Malley believes Tyron Woodley’s legacy took a massive hit on Saturday night. Woodley was rematching Jake Paul in the main event of a Showtime boxing pay-per-view. Early on, both men weren’t throwing much and through five rounds it was a very competitive fight, although not the most entertaining. Yet, in the sixth round, Paul scored a vicious KO that put Woodley out cold which O’Malley was impressed with.

Fan favorite ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley has reacted after earning a spot in the top-15 of the official UFC bantamweight rankings. O’Malley (15-1 MMA), who had previously dubbed himself ‘The Unranked Champ’, returned to the Octagon at last Saturday’s UFC 269 event for a bantamweight showdown with Raulian Paiva.

Sean O’Malley can no longer call himself the unranked champion. In the lead-up to UFC 269, O’Malley created merch that said he was the unranked champ. He also joked that he doesn’t want to fight ranked opponents as he only wants to fight unranked opponents until he gets paid more.

On Saturday night, Sean O’Malley made a real statement by finishing Raulian Paiva in the first round of their bantamweight showdown. It took “Suga” up to 15-1 and ensured that he will, in all likelihood, take on a ranked opponent in his next outing.

Garbrandt was starched by Kai Kara-France in the first round of their flyweight fight on the UFC 269 undercard. The former UFC bantamweight champion Garbrandt’s chin has always been a big question mark, but at 125lbs his durability issues are even more prominent as he was dropped twice in this fight en route to the TKO stoppage. UFC bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley revealed the rib injury that he sustained during his UFC 269 training camp for Raulian Paiva. O’Malley knocked out Paiva in the first round in what was the opening main card bout on the UFC 269 pay-per-view card. It was another amazing performance by O’Malley, who is 3-0 so far in 2021 with knockout wins over Paiva, Thomas Almeida, and Kris Moutinho. For O’Malley, though, he almost didn’t even make it to this fight with Paiva. According to “Sugar,” who spoke to the media following UFC 269, he had a nasty rib injury that he sustained during his training camp. According to O’Malley, he didn’t spar for three weeks.

O’Malley (15-1 MMA) entered tonight’s contest on a two-fight winning streak, his most previous being a lopsided beatdown of a very durable Kris Moutinho. ‘Suga’ had suffered his lone career defeat back in August of 2020, when he was TKO’d by Chito Vera.

Oliveira (31-8 MMA) captured the promotions vacant 155lbs title back in May, when he stopped Michael Chandler with a TKO in the second round. That win marked ‘Do Bronx’ ninth in a row, with eight of those respective victories coming by finish.

UFC middleweight Sean Strickland has responded after after being dubbed a “psychopath” by bantamweight Sean O’Malley. Strickland (24-3 MMA) was slated to compete against former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold last month at UFC 268. Unfortunately for fight fans, ‘Rocky’ was forced to pullout of the contest due to injury and Sean was removed from the card.

UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley has said that he wouldn’t feel good about fighting on the same UFC card as Sean Strickland. Over the course of the last twelve months we’ve seen Sean Strickland emerge as a real contender of note in the middleweight division. With five straight wins and victories over Brendan Allen, Krzysztof Jotko and Uriah Hall to his name, it’s expected that Strickland will get a major opponent in 2022 after his scheduled bout with Luke Rockhold fell through.

While many are excited to see him get back inside the Octagon, others wonder whether or not it’s time for him to take a step up in competition. After all, he’s now seven fights into his UFC career with his most notable opponent being Marlon “Chito” Vera – the man who finished him inside one round.

Sean O’Malley has made it clear he wants to fight Petr Yan even if there isn’t a belt on the line. After Aljamain Sterling wasn’t medically cleared to fight Yan at UFC 267, O’Malley called out the Russian to step up on short notice. The fight ultimately went to Cory Sandhagen but for O’Malley, it’s still a scrap he wants. He knows it would be a fun fight for the fans and the way their styles collide makes it that more intriguing for him.

McGregor (22-6 MMA) has not competed since July’s UFC 264 event, where he suffered a broken leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier. UFC Vegas 43 winner Adrian Yanez responded to the callout from divisional rival Sean O’Malley following his big win over Davey Grant. Yanez defeated Grant in the “Fight of the Night” at Saturday’s UFC Vegas 43 card. It was a fantastic fight between two of the best bantamweights in the sport as both Yanez and Grant stood in the pocket and traded for 15 minutes. Yanez ended up edging out the split decision at the end of the fight, and he improved to 4-0 overall now in the UFC. He has three knockout wins and now, a decision win over Grant as he nears the top-15 at 135lbs.

O’Malley (14-1 MMA), who is scheduled to return at next month’s UFC 269 event for a bantamweight bout with Raulian Paiva (21-3 MMA), raised eyebrows this afternoon when he tweeted “March” following the conclusion of today’s FOTN scrap between Adrian Yanez and Davey Grant.
