Daughter of Frank Mir signs with First Round Management, set for pro MMA debut at age 17

Bella Mir, the daughter of former UFC heavyweight champ Frank Mir, has signed with First Round Management and is set to make her MMA debut. Just 17 years old, Bella Mir has officially signed her deal with FRM, according to her father’s manager Malki Kawa. The signing was made official in an Instagram post, with a note that the younger Mir will be making her professional mixed martial arts debut in October.

Former UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit says he is open to a rematch with former rival Nick Diaz to “settle the score.” Condit returns to the Octagon this Saturday at UFC on ESPN 16 when he takes on former TUF winner Court McGee. “The Natural Born Killer” has scuffled over the last few years, as he’s gone 0-5 in his last five fights. Then again, Diaz hasn’t fought at all in five years and his last win came way back in 2011 against BJ Penn. So on paper, this would be a fight between two legends of the welterweight division who are nearing the end of their careers.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan believes YouTube star Logan Paul would beat boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an MMA fight. Paul has recently been linked to an exhibition boxing match with Mayweather, who is one of the greatest boxers of all time. While this boxing exhibition is not expected to be competitive whatsoever, Rogan believes Paul would have the upper hand against Mayweather if they met under the mixed martial arts ruleset.

New UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz was invited to meet the Polish Prime Minister upon his return home to the country. Blachowicz captured the UFC light heavyweight title in the co-main event of last Saturday’s UFC 253 card, knocking out the once-beaten Dominick Reyes in the second round. In doing so, he became just the second UFC champion from Poland, following in the footsteps of his friend, former UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

The official UFC rankings have been updated after last Saturday’s UFC 253 card, and as expected, there are some significant changes. Most notably, UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has rocketed up the illustrious men’s pound-for-pound list, scooting past UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. His climb can be attributed to his UFC 253 victory over the formerly unbeaten Paulo Costa, which came by way of second-round knockout.

MMA manager Wallid Ismail says that UFC middleweight Paulo Costa made a “tactical error” in his fight against Israel Adesanya at UFC 253. Adesanya spent the majority of the first round working from the outside and landing hard low kicks that compromised Costa’s ability to move. Most figured that Costa would make the adjustments in the second round and try to move inside, but he continued to stay on the outside and get his leg chewed up. All the low kicks left Costa open to Adesanya’s strikes, and the champ was able to get the TKO finish with punches in the second round.

The betting odds have been released for a potential superfight between UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and P4P great Jon Jones. Adesanya picked up a dominant second-round TKO win over Paulo Costa at UFC 253 this past weekend in what was arguably the best performance of his Octagon tenure to date. Soon after the fight was over, Jones took to social media to blast the middleweight kingpin.

For months now, Dana White has been adamant that TUF will be brought back. Originally, Paulo Costa’s team called for him to coach against Israel Adesanya but White wanted McGregor to coach against the winner of Nurmagomedov-Gaethje.

Aldana was supposed to fight Holm in Las Vegas on August 1, yet she had tested positive for COVID-19 and was forced to pull out of the fight. It was also a bad case of the coronavirus and Aldana said it had impacted her training quite a bit.

Adesanya, the UFC middleweight champion, took on ferocious Brazilian knockout artist Paulo Costa last Saturday night. After winning via second-round TKO, he briefly pretended to hump his vanquished foe.
