UFC legend Jon Jones threw shade at Khabib Nurmagomedov and Israel Adesanya with his post of the ‘most wins in UFC title bouts’ list. Fans and media are always debating who the greatest fighter of all time is, and all three of Jones, Nurmagomedov, and Adesanya are often at the top of their lists. Many consider Jones to be at the very top of the list because of his incredible UFC record in title fights. Bones is 14-0, 1 NC in UFC title fights, which far exceeds Nurmagomedov’s 4-0 record and Adesanya’s 4-0 record. All of those title defenses are one of the main arguments Jones backers make about his GOAT status. Nevertheless, there are many who think Nurmagomedov and Adesanya are better.

Newly-signed Bellator light heavyweight Yoel Romero donned his new uniform for the first time in anticipation of his promotional debut. Romero was released by the UFC in late 2020 as part of its mass exodus of 60 fighters from the roster. It didn’t take long for Romero to find a new home and he signed a free-agent deal with Bellator. The promotion has been on a bit of a hiatus for the last several months but is set to return in April with a new set of events. Expected to fight on one of the promotion’s first cards back is Romero.

At KnuckleMania on Friday night, O’Neal was in attendance for the event. Not only was there watching as a fan, but it was also a business meeting as he revealed he plans to become an investor in the company.

The UFC is reportedly leaning toward a trilogy fight between lightweight stars Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. Poirier and McGregor have fought twice previously. Their first encounter in the cage occured in the featherweight division in 2014. On that night, McGregor picked up the victory via first-round knockout.

Michael Chandler has been chomping at the bit for a fight with top UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier, but that didn’t stop him from giving an honest review of Poirier’s hot sauce. Chandler and Poirier both picked up big wins at UFC 257 last month, knocking out Dan Hooker and Conor McGregor respectively. Since then, Chandler has been angling for a fight with Poirier, but Poirier has expressed disinterest in the matchup.

Former UFC featherweight Spike Carlyle says he’s “stoked” about his recent release from the Las Vegas-based promotion’s roster. Carlyle fought three times in the UFC, smashing Aalon Cruz to a first-round TKO win in his promotional debut, then losing a pair of unanimous decisions to Billy Quarantillo and Bill Algeo in his next two bouts.

Long time UFC lightweight contenders Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje are still trading shots on social media. Ferguson and Gaethje met in the main event of UFC 249 in May. Gaethje won that fight by fifth-round TKO, cashing as a noteworthy underdog and derailing Ferguson’s incredible 12-fight win streak.

UFC lightweight Beneil Dariush released a statement following his “hard-fought fight” with Diego Ferreira at last Saturday’s UFC Vegas 18. Dariush edged out a split decision in a back-and-forth war between two of the most underrated lightweights in the sport. Both Dariush and Ferreira entered the bout in the 10-15 range in the UFC lightweight rankings, but they both showed with this spirited affair that they belong closer to the top-five. In fact, Dariush went on a post-fight rant about why he and Ferreira should have already been matched up against top-ranked opponents, though he later apologized and took those comments back.

UFC flyweight contender Alexandre Pantoja responded to bantamweight star Sean O’Malley’s claims that he knocked him out in sparring. O’Malley said on his podcast last week that he knocked out Pantoja several years ago at the MMA Lab. He also said that former UFC champion Henry Cejudo saw it happen and didn’t condone it but O’Malley says he went in there and finished Pantoja anyways.

A new fight has been added to this weekend’s UFC 258 card as Andre Ewell takes on Chris Gutierrez in a contest between talented bantamweights. Gutierrez’s own camp FactoryX Muay Thai broke the news of this last-minute addition to UFC 258. The team tweeted out that news about the fight, though few other details are presently known. Both Gutierrez and Ewell typically compete at bantamweight, but since the fight is taking place on short notice it could be held at featherweight, instead. Regardless, Ewell vs. Gutierrez is set to take place at UFC 258 this Saturday night. The card takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas Nevada and this is the 13th fight on it.

UFC lightweight contender Diego Ferreira has issued a statement after his split decision loss to Beneil Dariush last weekend. Ferreira and Dariush met on the main card of the action-packed UFC Vegas 18 card. After three thrilling rounds, Dariush was named the victor by split decision, which is of course not the result Ferreira was after.

Kickboxing legend Gokhan Saki has been released by the UFC, and is seemingly plotting a return to the sport that made him a superstar. Saki, the 2008 K-1 World Grand Prix Champion and former Glory Light Heavyweight Champion, signed with the UFC to much acclaim in 2017. He made his debut with the promotion in Japan in September of that year, weathering some early adversity to turn the lights out on Henrique da Silva in the waning moments of the first round.

Who has the better boxing between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway? Dustin Poirier, who has fought both twice, has shared his thoughts on the debate. Holloway last fought on January 16, when he landed north of 400 strikes en route to a unanimous decision win over Calvin Kattar. In the middle of that fight, he proclaimed himself the best boxer in the UFC.

Donald Cerrone has confirmed that he’ll be fighting Diego Sanchez at welterweight next, adding that he’s plotting a violent victory, then a move back down to lightweight. Rumors about a May 8 Cerrone vs. Sanchez fight emerged last week, with Sanchez announcing it would likely be the final fight of his long career.

Former UFC bantamweight king TJ Dillashaw is looking sharp as he prepares to return to the Octagon after more than two years away. Dillashaw has concluded his two-year suspension after testing positive for erythropoietin (EPO) in pre and post fight tests for his UFC Flyweight Championship defeat against Henry Cejudo in January 2019.

Brady left his longtime home of New England last offseason and signed with the NFC’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 43-year-old quarterback led the franchise to its first playoff appearance since 2003 this postseason.
