Derrick Lewis referenced The Undertaker in an attempt to explain his extra punches after dropping Curtis Blaydes at UFC Vegas 19. Lewis (25-7 MMA) extended his current win streak to four in a row this evening by scoring a spectacular second round knockout victory over Blaydes.

Heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis already has his next opponent picked out following his spectacular KO victory over Curtis Blaydes. Lewis (25-7 MMA) squared off with Blaydes in the headliner of tonight’s UFC Vegas 19 event. After a rough opening round which saw ‘Razor’ land a plethora of different strikes, ‘The Black Beast’ unleashed his freakish power in round two. Derrick Lewis was able to catch Curtis Blaydes with an uppercut while he was coming in which resulted in an immediate stoppage.

The Octagon remained in Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 19 event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Derrick Lewis vs. Curtis Blaydes. The highly anticipated heavyweight fight proved to be a tale of two rounds. Curtis Blaydes seemingly dominated the opening round landing a barrage of punches and kicks on Derrick Lewis. However, in round two ‘The Black Beast’ was able to once again showcase his power by flooring Blaydes with an uppercut, spelling an end to the fight.

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 19 event was headlined by a key heavyweight bout between perennial division contenders Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis. Blaydes (14-3 MMA) was stepping foot in the Octagon for the first time since defeating Alexander Volkov by unanimous decision this past June. ‘Razor’ had entered tonight’s headliner on a four-fight win streak, as he had previously scored victories over Justin Willis, Shamil Abdurakhimov and Junior dos Santos.

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 19: ‘Blaydes vs. Lewis’ event has taken a late hit as a lightweight bout between Drakkar Klose and Luis Pena has been scrapped. Klose and Pena were set to collide on today’s preliminary card but the bout was unfortunately called off after one of Drakkar’s cornermen tested positive for Covid.

Maycee Barber suffered her second loss in a row at UFC 258 and proceeded to apologize to Dana White right after the setback. In last Saturday’s co-main event, Barber took on Alexa Grasso in her return to the Octagon after tearing her ACL at UFC 246 last January in a loss to Roxanne Modafferi. In her comeback fight, “The Future” planned to finish Grasso but that did not come to fruition.

Yan and Sterling will mix it up on March 6 when the two meet in the co-main event of UFC 259. The two bantamweight stars have been chatty with each other on social media in the buildup to this fight, which has been entertaining for fans to watch. In March, they will finally be able to get their hands on each other at UFC 259. In a video that Yan sent to Sterling posted on his social media, he showed “Funk Master” a taste of what’s to come.

A new contender is needed at 135-pounds. With Holly Holm continuing to make another push toward the title, she next has to get by Julianna Pena. Friday, ESPN broke the news that the former UFC bantamweight queen will do battle with The Ultimate Fighter season 18 winner in Pena on May 8. The location for the fight night event remains to be determined as does whether or not it is the main event.

Henry Cejudo has an interesting theory as to why Dana White and the UFC never booked the fight against Alex Volkanovski. After Cejudo TKO’d Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 to defend his bantamweight title, he announced his retirement from the sport. However, since the retirement he has hinted at a return to face Volkanovski. But, he believes White won’t book the fight because he knows he’d win and retire with the belt.

Both men desperately need a win to get some hype back behind their name. However, for O’Malley, he says the Brazilian originally turned him down.
