Dustin Poirier expects to submit Conor McGregor at UFC 264

Dustin Poirier believes he will finish Conor McGregor again at UFC 264, but this time will do so by submission. Back at UFC 257 in January on Fight Island, Poirier scored a second-round TKO over McGregor, and immediately after the fight, they agreed to do a trilogy. The trilogy match will happen on Saturday night at UFC 264 and “The Diamond” is confident he will get his hand raised and says he sees himself submitting the Irishman.

UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is predicting that promotional superstar Conor McGregor will KO Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Oliveira will be a special guest in attendance at this Saturday’s blockbuster pay-per-view event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ahead of this weekend’s huge match, “Do Bronx” was asked who he believes will win the main event of UFC 264. Although most fans and media seem to think it’s a close fight that could go either way, the Brazilian champion is confident that he knows who is going to get his hand raised on Saturday night.

The official weigh-ins for UFC 264 took place on Friday in Las Vegas, Nevada, and 25 of the 26 fighters scheduled to compete made weight. The main event of UFC 264 features the trilogy fight between lightweights Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. Both men stepped onto the scale and successfully made weight, with each man standing on the scale at 156lbs. The UFC 264 main event is now official. It’s also worth noting that backup fighter Rafael dos Anjos also made weight, coming in at 156lbs.

In addition to fans suggesting that McGregor may have lost a step, Paul believes that’s certainly the case. Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will no longer be having their trilogy fight on July 24. Fury was supposed to fight Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight unification fight. However, an arbitrator ruled Wilder was owed the third fight so it was quickly booked to happen on July 24 in Las Vegas. As the bout got closer, it began getting more hyped up but it will not happen. It was reported on Thursday that the fight was likely to be postponed after a COVID-19 outbreak in Fury’s camp. Now, boxing journalist, Dan Rafael reports Fury was one of many who tested positive and the fight has been postponed.

There are reports emerging from Las Vegas which suggest that dos Anjos is the backup fighter for the UFC 264 main event between McGregor and Dustin Poirier. The UFC hasn’t officially tabbed dos Anjos as the backup fighter, but people in Las Vegas have seen him at the fighter hotel cutting weight just in case something happens to either McGregor or Poirier ahead of Saturday’s pay-per-view card. In the event that the unthinkable happens and one of these two men falls off the card, the UFC will have dos Anjos step in and fight.

UFC welterweight fighter Niko Price says he quit smoking weed after being suspended following his fight against Donald Cerrone last year. Price tested positive for marijuana metabolites following his draw with Donald Cerrone last September. The result of the bout was overturned to a No Contest and Price was fined and suspended for six months after the commission found traces of THC in his drug test. This was the second time in Price’s career that he was sanctioned for his marijuana use. Back in 2017, Price knocked out Alex Morono in his UFC debut but the result of the fight was overturned to a No Contest after he tested positive for marijuana. After being hit hard in the pocketbook twice for smoking up, Price says that he’s done with smoking weed now.
