Last Saturday night, Kai Kara-France put his name on the map in a big way by spoiling Cody Garbrandt’s big flyweight debut. It was supposed to be a moment of rejuvenation for the former bantamweight king but instead, Kara-France put a first round beating on him before Herb Dean stepped in and put an end to proceedings.

Islam Makhachev has taken a shot at Conor McGregor after the Irishman claimed he would be fighting for the title in his next fight. After Charles Oliveira beat Dustin Poirier at UFC 269, McGregor took to social media to say he will be fighting the Brazilian for the belt in his next fight. Of course, Justin Gaethje and the winner of Makhachev-Dariush are in line for the belt.

Julianna Pena hopes to topple another all-time great after defeating Amanda Nunes at UFC 269. Nunes went unbeaten for six years and 12 fights until meeting Pena this past Saturday night. For Pena, however, she’d tasted defeat as recently as October 2020 when faced with former featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie. Before that, Pena’s most recent loss came in 2017 against a currently dominant flyweight queen, Valentina Shevchenko.

Although many thought he would sign with PFL or Bellator, Khabib Nurmagomeodv has revealed Lee is close to signing with his promotion, Eagle Fighting Championship and it will be official in a few days.

Amanda Nunes says she will be fighting Julianna Pena next time out. In the co-main event of UFC 269, Nunes was fighting at bantamweight for the first time in two years as she was set to defend her belt against Pena. In the lead-up to the fight, not many fans were giving Pena much of a chance but in the end, it was the challenger pulling off a massive upset by submitting Nunes in the second to become the new champ.

The final UFC pay-per-view of 2021 went down on Saturday as the promotion returned to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for a stacked UFC 269 card. The event saw two titles on the line as Charles Oliveira was defending his lightweight title against Dustin Poirier. The co-main event saw Amanda Nunes return to bantamweight to battle Julianna Pena. UFC 269 ended up being a phenomenal card as in the main event it was Oliveira winning by third-round submission after being dropped early. In the co-main event, Pena pulled off a massive upset as she submitted Nunes to dethrone the long-reigning champ. Now, after UFC 269 here is what I think should be next for the four fighters involved in the title fights.

On Saturday night at UFC 269, Tai Tuivasa made a real statement by knocking Augusto Sakai out to take his current win streak up to four in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. In the immediate aftermath, he proceeded to drink as many shoeys as he possibly could both in the Octagon and outside of it with fans being more than happy to provide him with the necessary utensils.

On December 18, he was initially scheduled to take on Tommy Fury down in Tampa, Florida.

The man known as “Bam Bam” made it four wins in a row on Saturday night with an emphatic knockout triumph over Augusto Sakai in Las Vegas. The win showcased just how much Tuivasa has improved when it comes to the technical side of his game with many believing he could be a future star in the heavyweight division.

The opening betting odds have been released for a future UFC lightweight title fight between champion Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje. Oliveira submitted Dustin Poirier in the third round of their lightweight title main event that headlined this past Saturday’s UFC 269 card. It was the 10th straight win for Oliveira, who had beaten Michael Chandler by stoppage back at UFC 262 earlier this year to win the vacant title. With former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov now retired, Oliveira is the clear top dog in the world at 155lbs. ‘Do Bronx’ has shown he is an improved version of himself, and that makes him one of the most dangerous finishers in the UFC.

Justin Gaethje is excited to meet UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in 2022, saying that “I can’t wait to break his face.” Gaethje is the No. 1 contender in the UFC lightweight division now that Oliveira defeated Dustin Poirier to defend the UFC lightweight title. Oliveira’s submission win over Poirier in the main event of UFC 269 showed once again that he is the best lightweight in the sport now that former champ Khabib Nurmagomedov is retired. With Poirier now out of the way, Gaethje is next up in line to fight Oliveira and he can’t wait to get in there and fight him.

Garbrandt was starched by Kai Kara-France in the first round of their flyweight fight on the UFC 269 undercard. The former UFC bantamweight champion Garbrandt’s chin has always been a big question mark, but at 125lbs his durability issues are even more prominent as he was dropped twice in this fight en route to the TKO stoppage.
