Sean Strickland picked up his sixth consecutive win tonight at UFC Vegas 47, but he was not happy with his performance. Strickland (25-3 MMA) collided with fellow middleweight Jack Hermansson (22-7 MMA) in the headliner of tonight’s thirteen-bout fight card.

The Octagon returned to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 47 event, a thirteen-bout fight card headlined by Jack Hermansson vs. Sean Strickland. The highly anticipated middleweight main event proved to be the story of Sean Strickland’s jab. The American was able to consistently batter the face of ‘The Joker’ with a lightning quick left hand which he used to dictate the contest. The fight went the full twenty-five minutes, but it was pretty clear that Strickland had done enough to get his hand raised… Or so we thought. One judge managed to score the fight for Hermansson, a decision which was booed by the few fans in attendance.

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 47 event was headlined by a key middleweight bout between Jack Hermansson and Sean Strickland. Hermansson (22-7 MMA) had most previously competed back in May, where he earned a unanimous decision victory over highly touted prospect Edmen Shahbazyan. That win was of course preceded by a loss to Marvin Vettori in December of 2020.

Penn, a former two-division UFC champion, is best known for his 27-month reign atop the UFC’s lightweight division. ‘The Prodigy’ captured the strap with a submission win over Joe Stevenson in 2008 and went on to defend the 155lbs title on three occasions, scoring finishes of Sean Sherk, Kenny Florian and Diego Sanchez.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has issued a statement after a video of him using the N-Word on multiple occasions went viral. On Friday, Grammy Award-winning R&B singer India Arie released a video that showcased Rogan using the N-Word on multiple occasions during previous podcasts.

Bryan Battle doesn’t think his UFC Vegas 47 fight against Tresean Gore is the real TUF 29 finale. Battle and Gore were supposed to fight in the finals, but Gore suffered an injury and “Pooh Bear” ended up facing Gilbert Urbina instead. Battle won the fight to win TUF, but now as he finally faces Gore, he says this is just another fight.
Chad Mendes claims he'll make more money in his BKFC debut than Francis Ngannou made for UFC 270

Chad Mendes is finally set to make his BKFC debut and is apparently getting paid quite a bit of money for his services. Mendes hasn’t fought since 2018 at UFC 232 and he later retired in the summer of 2019. ‘Money’ recently announced his intention to return and signed with BKFC where he will face Joshuah Alvarez in a 155-pound bout on Feb. 19 at BKFC: Knucklemania 2.

Jack Hermansson didn’t expect Khamzat Chimaev to be so strong. Back in November, Hermansson and Chimaev had a freestyle wrestling match which ‘Borz’ won. The two have trained together in the past and even though Hermansson fights a weight class higher, he says his fellow Swede was just as big and strong as him.

According to Islam Makhachev, Dustin Poiriers’ move to welterweight is only because he won’t ever be a lightweight champion. Poirier (28-7 MMA) lost to Charles Oliveira (32-8 MMA) at UFC 269 in December 2021, failing to earn the desired lightweight belt. It was Poiriers’ second attempt to gain the title, his first attempt was back in 2019 at UFC 242, in Abu Dhabi, when he lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov (29-0 MMA).
