Pyfer is set for his first UFC main event and he gets the chance to fight Hermansson who is ranked 10th at middleweight. Although Pyfer is unranked, he is a sizeable betting favorite as he’s a -258 favorite as the oddsmakers expect the American to remain undefeated in the UFC.

Jack Hermansson isn’t surprised people are overlooking him and doubting him going into his UFC Vegas 86 main event fight against Joe Pyfer. Hermansson hasn’t fought since December of 2022 when he suffered a TKO loss to Roman Dolidze. He was later booked to fight Brendan Allen in June, but an injury forced him to withdraw as he was out of action for all of 2023, which was frustrating for ‘The Joker’.

According to MMA Mania’s Alex Behunin, Hermansson has suffered an injury and was forced to pull out of his main event scrap against Brendan Allen. At this time, it’s uncertain if the fight will be rebooked or if the UFC will be searching for a new opponent to face Allen on about five weeks’ notice.

Brunson and Hermansson were set to fight in the co-main event of the card which was also set to serve as a pivotal middleweight bout. Yet, on Tuesday, ESPN reported that Brunson suffered an undisclosed injury that forced him to withdraw, but Roman Dolidze has agreed to step up on short notice to face Hermansson at UFC Orlando on December 3.

The highly anticipated middleweight main event proved to be the story of Sean Strickland’s jab. The American was able to consistently batter the face of ‘The Joker’ with a lightning quick left hand which he used to dictate the contest. The fight went the full twenty-five minutes, but it was pretty clear that Strickland had done enough to get his hand raised… Or so we thought. One judge managed to score the fight for Hermansson, a decision which was booed by the few fans in attendance.
