Tonight’s UFC Las Vegas is co-headlined by a heavyweight matchup featuring Alexander Volkov taking on Alexander Romanov. Volkov (36-10 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since scoring a TKO victory over Jairzinho Rozenstruik in June of last year. The former Bellator champion has gone 3-2 over his past five fights overall.

Yan (16-4 MMA) will enter tonight’s headliner with hopes of snapping a two-fight losing skid. The former bantamweight champion is coming off back-to-back split decision losses against Sean O’Malley and Aljamain Sterling respectively.

Usman Nurmagomedov puts his lightweight title on the line against former UFC champion Benson Henderson in tonight’s Bellator 292 main event. Nurmagomedov (17-0 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since claiming the lightweight world title with a unanimous decision victory over Patricky Pitbull. The Russian phenom has gone 5-0 since joining the Bellator ranks in April of 2021.

A welterweight bout between Michael Page and Goiti Yamauchi kicks off tonight’s Bellator 292 main card from San Jose. Page (21-2 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since suffering a majority decision loss to Mike Perry at BKFC 27 last August. Prior to that setback, ‘Venom’ was coming off a split decision loss to Logan Storley in a fight for Bellator’s interim welterweight title.

Don’t expect to see former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar returning to the octagon. Last Saturday night in Las Vegas, Jon Jones, and Ciryl Gane battled for heavyweight gold. The title was left vacant after Francis Ngannou left the promotion in January, and ‘Bones’ wasted no time in his heavyweight debut. In the main event of UFC 285, Jones won the title by first-round submission.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is currently in talks to box Deontay Wilder. ‘The Predator’ walked out of the UFC in January, vacating his heavyweight gold in the process. Following his exit, the promotion set Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane for the vacant title. Last Saturday, ‘Bones’ defeated ‘Bon Gamin’ by first-round submission to win the gold.

Petr Yan got physical with Merab Dvalishvili at the faceoff following weigh-ins. After both Yan and Dvalishvili successfully made weight ahead of their main event, the two had a faceoff and Dvalishvili was heard calling Yan a bitch. After they got closer, Yan grabbed Dvalishvili’s throat and shoved him.

Merab Dvalishvili and Petr Yan went face-to-face just days before their UFC Las Vegas main event. Dvalishvili and Yan are set to headline the card from The Theater at Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas in a crucial fight for the bantamweight division. The winner could be a win away from a title shot, and in the lead-up, Dvalishvili has said this fight is personal.

It was his second straight loss and he is just 1-3 in his last four – with the other two losses coming by another split decision to Aljamain Sterling and a DQ against ‘Funkmaster’.

Former UFC welterweight contender Mike Swick is officially cancer free. ‘Quick’ has been out of the octagon since a unanimous decision defeat to Alex Garcia in July 2015. That bout ended his UFC career, and he wound up retiring for good as well. Sitting at a professional record of 15-6, he defeated names such as Joe Riggs, Marcus Davis, and Ben Saunders in his MMA career.

Heading into the fight, Yan is a -290 favorite while the Georgian is a +215 underdog on FanDuel. Ahead of the fight, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get their predictions for the scrap. The pros slightly lean towards Yan getting it done, and possibly by stoppage.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan doesn’t believe he’s in much danger this Saturday. ‘No Mercy’ has been out of the octagon since his clash with Sean O’Malley last October. At UFC 280, the bantamweights put on a show for 15 minutes, but many felt the Russian did much of the better work. Nonetheless, Yan lost his second straight bout by split decision.
