After Bautista submitted Benito Lopez in the first round, he wasn’t sure what would be next for him but was surprised when he was offered Cannetti. Although it wasn’t the fight he was hoping for, Bautista knew he had to make a statement and finish Cannetti early.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan believes there’s no argument against Jon Jones being the greatest. ‘Bones’ made his long-awaited return to the octagon earlier this month at UFC 285. The bout was the former champion’s first in over three years. Furthermore, it was also his heavyweight debut, as Jones was slated to face Ciryl Gane for vacant heavyweight gold.

UFC welterweight contender Belal Muhammad appears to be unhappy with Colby Covington. UFC 286 is slated for this Saturday night on pay-per-view from London, England. The card is headlined by the welterweight trilogy bout between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. In their first outing in December 2015, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ won by unanimous decision.

PFL women’s lightweight contender Kayla Harrison is seemingly grateful for her loss to Larissa Pacheco. The former Judoka has been out of action since her trilogy bout with the Brazilian last November. The two female lightweights headlined PFL’s championship card, but few expected the main event to be competitive. In their prior two outings, Harrison dominated Pacheco, and many figured that would be the case in the third matchup.

Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman had a heated final faceoff ahead of UFC 286. Edwards and Usman are set for their trilogy match on Saturday night in London after the Brit won the belt back in August with a fifth-round head kick KO. Since then, the two have trash-talked each other more to add hype to the fight and after the ceremonial weigh-ins, the talk continued.

Usman Nurmagomedov and Benson Henderson were the top earners in the disclosed Bellator 292 salaries. The disclosed fight purses for Bellator 292 have been revealed by the California State Athletic Commission and Nurmagomedov and Henderson both earned six-figure pay checks.

Khamzat Chimaev has confirmed his intentions of fighting for the UFC welterweight title. Chimaev (12-0 MMA) last fought in September of 2022 at UFC 279 where he defeated Kevin Holland (23-9 MMA) via submission at 2:13 of round one.

Former UFC fighter Antonio Carlos Junior has been expelled from Big Brother Brasil after committing a case of sexual harassment. Antonio Carlos Junior (15-5 MMA) won season three of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ back in 2014. Following the victory Junior was signed by the UFC and enjoyed a seven year run with the promotion.

Former UFC fighter Darren Till has given his reaction to recent remarks from Dillon Danis regarding his boxing future. Earlier this year, Darren Till opted to leave the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He did so following a poor run of form with the promotion, ending in a loss to Dricus du Plessis back in December.

He came in and made a huge splash and in the blink of an eye, he’d captured the middleweight title.

Justin Gaethje came from a wrestling background, yet he has yet to shoot for a takedown in the UFC. However, that may change at UFC 286. Gaethje has fought 10 times in the UFC – and will make the walk for the 11th time on Saturday – and has yet to shoot for a takedown. Although he is known for his brawling style, that does come as a surprise given he has the wrestling pedigree, but Gaethje says he hasn’t had to use it ever.

Kamaru Usman doesn’t think there is much left for him to accomplish after UFC 286. Usman is looking to reclaim his welterweight title in the main event in the trilogy match against Leon Edwards in London, England. The two had their rematch back in August with Edwards winning by fifth-round head kick KO and even before that fight, many wondered how much longer Usman had left.

Conor McGregor has responded after USADA confirmed he would need six months of testing in order to return. After the Irishman broke his leg in his trilogy match against Dustin Poirier, it was revealed McGregor withdrew from the USADA testing pool. McGregor had said he wanted to focus on rehabbing but many fighters wondered if he was using PEDs to speed up his return.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has responded to Jon Jones. ‘Bones’ called out the former titleholder after submitting Ciryl Gane earlier this month at UFC 285. The victory handed Jones his first in the weight class, and also the heavyweight title. Francis Ngannou famously vacated the championship after parting ways with the UFC in January.

UFC welterweights Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman had a heated back-and-forth earlier today. ‘Rocky’ and ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ are slated to headline UFC 286 in London this Saturday. The bout will be the third time that they’ve clashed, and the first since their historic welterweight title fight last August. In that outing, Usman appeared to be on his way to a second unanimous decision win over Edwards.

Former UFC double-champion Conor McGregor is planning on retiring in the promotion. ‘The Notorious’ has been out of the cage since his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier in July 2021. Near the end of the first round, the Irishman broke his leg. Due to the injury, he’s been on the shelf for well over a year.

Jon Jones may not be fighting Stipe Miocic after all. Jones took to Twitter on Thursday to accuse Miocic of ducking him all last year and now revealed their fight in July may not be happening after all. Of course, after Jones submitted Ciryl Gane at UFC 285, he called out Miocic and all signs pointed to that fight happening on International Fight Week this summer.

The USADA has issued a statement following Conor McGregor’s recent comments about his eligibility to fight in the UFC. Conor McGregor (22-6 MMA) is expected to return to the Octagon for the first time in two years to take on Michael Chandler (23-8 MMA) after the two coaches face-off at TUF 31.
