Former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier fired back against accusations of him having bias while working in the UFC commentary booth. Cormier was publicly criticized by Justin Gaethje recently for being biased during his call of the recent Islam Makhachev vs. Dan Hooker fight. Speaking on the Debate DC on Vover podcast, Cormier responded to the recent criticisms towards his calls inside the booth. As far as the former UFC champion is concerned, he thinks the notion of him being biased is ridiculous and he doesn’t agree with it.

UFC welterweight fan-favorite Nate Diaz appears to be targeting the winner of UFC 268’s main event between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington. Diaz appears to be very interested in Saturday’s main event between Usman and Covington. Taking to his social media on Friday, Diaz posted a photo of the UFC welterweight champion and his rival during the staredown. On top of the two fighters, Diaz posted a picture of a target along with a dart hitting the bullseye in the center of it.

UFC 268 weigh-in results: Two title fights official, two fighters misses weight

The official weigh-ins for UFC 268 took place on Friday in New York City, and 26 of the 28 fighters scheduled to compete have made weight. In the main event, both UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and his rival Colby Covington each successfully made weight for their UFC 268 title fight rematch. This is a rematch between these two after they first met at UFC 245 in December 2019. The first time around, it was Usman who finished Covington in the fifth round to defend his UFC welterweight title. Two years later, and now we will see these two fight again. Both Usman and Covington weighed in below the 170lbs limit and the UFC 268 main event is official.

Colby Covington believes that poor instructions from his former ATT cornermen contributed to his loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 245. Covington lost via fifth-round TKO to Usman the first time these two welterweight rivals met inside the Octagon at UFC 245. In that fight, the two archrivals went back-and-forth for nearly the full 25 minutes until Usman dropped Covington late in the fifth round and referee Marc Goddard stopped the fight. In the two years since then, Covington has done everything in his power in order to convince the UFC to give him the rematch, and they finally caved in and gave it to him. This Saturday at UFC 268, Covington gets to step into the Octagon for the second time when he takes on Usman for the welterweight title.

As far as Gaethje goes, Cormier was biased with his commentary during the Islam Makhachev vs. Dan Hooker fight, and “The Highlight” made sure to let DC know that’s how he felt about him as he took to his Twitter to talk some smack to the former UFC champion.

Conor McGregor claims he won all of his UFC world titles on one leg: “It’s why I was able to maneuver thru the fight even tho it was snapped.” McGregor suffered a nasty broken leg against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight that took place at UFC 264 over the summer. McGregor’s leg snapped in the first round and he was not able to make it past the end of the round, which led to Poirier winning the fight by TKO. In the months since then, McGregor has made it clear that he thinks the ending of the fight was a fluke, and that he wants to get back in there with Poirier for a fourth time one day.

UFC light heavyweight contender Jiri Prochazka has denied being offered an upcoming fight against “liar” Aleksandar Rakic. Prochazka was the backup on Fight Island for the main event of UFC 268 between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira. While Blachowicz entered the fight as a big favorite to defend his UFC light heavyweight title, it was Teixeira who emerged as the champion. The common thinking is that Prochazka will be next in line to fight for the belt, but UFC president Dana White was non-committal to that when asked by the media following UFC 268. Because White hasn’t come out and 100 percent confirmed that Prochazka is next in line, there is the possibility now that Prochazka will have to fight Rakic instead.
