In the main event of UFC Austin, a battle of top 10 lightweights went down as Arman Tsarukyan took on Beneil Dariush. Tsarukyan entered the fight on a two-fight win streak and was coming off a TKO win over Joaquim Silva in his most previous effort. It was also his second UFC main event after he dropped a controversial decision to Mateusz Gamrot last year. Dariush, meanwhile, was set for his first UFC main event and was coming off a first-round knockout loss to Charles Oliveira in June.

Giga Chikadze has been forced out of his UFC 296 fight against Josh Emmett. Emmett took to social media on Monday evening to reveal that Chikadze is out of their fight next weekend at UFC 296. He also confirmed he wants to remain on the card and is hopeful to get a replacement opponent.

Khamzat Chimaev will be going under the knife after suffering an injury during his UFC 294 fight with Kamaru Usman. Chimaev (13-0 MMA) squared off with Usman (20-4 MMA) in a middleweight contest that served as the co-main event of October’s pay-per-view event in Abu Dhabi. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ had accepted that bout on just ten days’ notice, this after Khamzat’s original opponent Paulo Costa was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Jon Jones has responded after Tom Aspinall called for Dana White to strip him of his UFC heavyweight title. It was shortly after Aspinall (14-3 MMA) defeated Sergei Pavlovich (18-2 MMA) by first-round knockout to claim the interim heavyweight title at UFC 295, that the Brit suggested Dana White and company should strip ‘Bones’ of his heavyweight championship.

Mike Perry believes that a potential BKFC fight with Dillon Danis is very realistic. ‘Platinum’ returned to the BKFC ring over the weekend to face former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez. There, Mike Perry turned in yet another stoppage win, this time defeating ‘The Underground King’ by second-round TKO. In the process, he claimed the ‘King of Violence’ symbolic championship. Following the win, he was called out by former Bellator fighter, Dillon Danis.

The rising lightweight returned to the octagon in the main event of UFC Austin last Saturday night. There, Arman Tsarukyan scored a first-round knockout win over Beneil Dariush, his third win in a row. While a big victory, it seems that he was far more happy to watch Jalin Turner vs. Bobby Green.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has explained why she wants Holly Holm next. ‘Cupcake’ returned to the win column over the weekend against Julia Avila at UFC Austin. Entering Saturday’s matchup with ‘Ragin Panda’, Miesha Tate admitted the fight could be her last. However, the former champion got a dominant rebound third-round submission win.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill has opened up on his recent domestic violence arrest. It was reported on Friday by TMZ Sports that Hill was arrested in Michigan earlier this week for domestic violence against his brother. According to the report, Hill was booked at a Kent County jail on Monday at around 1 AM and released later that evening, at 7:35 PM. During that time, prosecutors formally charged Hill with one count of misdemeanor aggravated domestic violence.

Colby Covington says getting a DUI while he was at college in Iowa helped save his life and turn him into the fighter he is today. Covington began his college career at Iowa Central Community College and won the 2007 165lb national junior college wrestling title as a true freshman with a 34–0 record. After one year there, Covington transferred to Iowa but just before school started, he was arrested for eluding police and driving while intoxicated, as he blew three times over the legal limit.

The UFC has wasted little time signing Olympic taekwondo medalist Robelis Despaigne. Despaigne is off to a red hot start in his pro MMA career. He has gone 4-0 and has yet to reach the second round. His longest bout lasted four minutes and 54 seconds, which was his pro MMA debut. Since that fight, Despaigne’s average time inside the cage has been just under seven seconds.

Neil Magny claims Ian Garry’s remarks during their fight buildup nearly had shocking consequences for him. Magny isn’t known for having beef with many MMA fighters, but Garry was certainly an exception. “The Future” didn’t hesitate trading barbs with Magny. Uncharacteristically, Magny had some trash talk of his own, saying he wanted to put a father-like beatdown on Garry, who responded by claiming his opponent was bragging about hitting his own children.

Perry has been doing quite well for himself post-UFC. “Platinum” has gone 4-0 in the world of bare-knuckle boxing and many believe he has found his niche. Some have gone as far as to say Perry is the face of the BKFC promotion. “Platinum” recently defeated former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez under bare knuckle boxing rules. Perry won the fight after Alvarez’s corner waved the bout off before round three.

Eddie Alvarez fell short against Mike Perry at BKFC 56, but he still holds his head up high. Alvarez and Perry shared the ring inside the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City on December 2. In the battle of two former UFC bruisers competing for the symbolic “King of Violence” title, “Platinum” emerged victorious. While Alvarez had his moments, it was clear that he was slowing down near the end of round two due to the damage Perry dished out. Before round three could begin, Alvarez’s corner stopped the fight.

Deiveson Figueiredo has made a successful bantamweight debut and he already has a warning for UFC champion Sean O’Malley. Figueiredo took on Rob Font on the main card of UFC Austin this past Saturday (December 2). The former UFC flyweight titleholder earned a unanimous decision victory over Font, who entered the bout as the number eight-ranked bantamweight.
