Jairzinho Rozenstruik calls out Francis Ngannou, ‘The Predator’ responds

UFC heavyweight contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik called out Francis Ngannou once again following his KO win over Alistair Overeem at UFC Washington, D.C., and Ngannou responded to the message. Rozenstruik picked up the biggest win of his MMA career to date when he split open Overeem’s lip with a brutal KO at 4:56 of the fifth round in their main event fight. It’s the latest KO in the history of the UFC heavyweight division, and the victory over Overeem will shoot Rozenstruik into the elite of the UFC heavyweight rankings.

UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem has reacted to the devastating last-second KO loss he suffered to the fists of Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC Washington, D.C. Overeem was in cruise control over Rozenstruik and looked to be well on his way to winning a unanimous decision. But with just four seconds left in the fight, Rozenstruik connected with a gigantic punch that floored Overeem. Referee Big Dan Miragliotta stepped in and waved off the contest and Rozenstruik was declared the winner by KO. It’s the latest knockout in the history of the UFC heavyweight division at 4:56 of round five.

UFC DC weigh-in results: Two fighters miss weight

The UFC DC weigh-ins took place Friday morning and two fighters scheduled to compete on Saturday night’s card missed weight. In the headlining fight, UFC heavyweight star Alistair Overeem came in at 248lbs. His opponent, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, tipped the scales at 250.5lbs. Rozenstruik filled in on short notice for Walt Harris, who was forced to withdraw due to the disappearance and eventual murder of his daughter Aniah Blanchard. Despite taking the fight on short notice, Rozenstruik comfortably made weight, and the UFC Washington DC headliner is official.
