Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley believes Gilbert Burns will pose some real problems for the division’s reigning king Kamaru Usman. Burns was originally expected to challenge Usman for the welterweight title at UFC 251 earlier this month, but was pulled from the fight when he tested positive for COVID-19. He was then replaced by Jorge Masvidal, who Usman defeated by decision.

Bellator heavyweight contender Matt Mitrione is set to make his return to the cage when he takes on Timothy Johnson at Bellator 243. Bellator 243 takes place on Friday, August 7, and is headlined by a rematch between top lightweight contenders Michael Chandler and Benson Henderson. The heavyweight matchup featuring Mitrione vs. Johnson is set to be the co-main event for the card. The event takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Till and Whittaker will meet in the main event of UFC on ESPN 14, which goes down this Saturday on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. In this high-stakes fight, Till will look to build on the momentum of a split decision victory over former interim title challenger Kelvin Gastelum in his middleweight division, and take another step toward a fight with the division’s undisputed champion Israel Adesanya.

The pair had their first staredown on Thursday, and many fans questioned Till’s body language after the Brit neglected to make any prolonged eye-contact with his foe.

ONE Championship returns to Bangkok, Thailand, with ONE: NO Surrender on Friday, July 31. Headlining the promotion’s return card will be a trilogy bout for the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Petchdam Petchyindee Academy. Prior to joining the organization, the Thai strikers met at the world-famous Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok twice – Petchdam took the first meeting by decision in 2017, and Rodtang evened the score a year later.

UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski believes his next title defense will come against either The Korean Zombie or Zabit Magomedsharipov. Volkanovski defeated Max Holloway via controversial split decision at UFC 251, his second straight win over the former long-time champ. The result of the fight was controversial enough that UFC president Dana White hasn’t completely closed the book on Holloway getting a trilogy fight, but the smart money is on the UFC matchmakers choosing a fresh opponent to fight Volkanovski for his next title defense.

The former UFC heavyweight champion returned after a USADA suspension at UFC 249 where he dropped a decision to Alexey Oleynik. Although the Brazilian did not have the best showing, he will be making a fairly quick turnaround to battle Alexander Gustafsson at UFC Fight Island 3.

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has issued a snappy response to former bantamweight and flyweight champ Henry Cejudo. Cejudo, who retired after a successful bantamweight title defense against Dominick Cruz in May, has since shared interest in a featherweight title fight with Volkanovski, which would give him the opportunity to become the first fighter in UFC history to win belts in three divisions.
