Tonight’s UFC Vegas 8 event just took a major hit as a highly anticipated rematch between Ion Cutelaba and Magomed Ankalaev has been removed from the card. Just hours before the commencement of tonight’s event the promotion announced that Ion Cutelaba had tested positive for Covid-19 and was thus forced out of his scheduled main card bout with Magomed Ankalaev.
UFC Fighters pay tribute to 'Black Panther' Star Chadwick Boseman following untimely passing

A plethora of UFC fighters took to social media today to pay tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman following the news of his untimely death. Boseman, who was best known for his role as Marvel’s “Black Panther”, passed away Friday following a battle with colon cancer. He was only 43-years-old.

Hubbard entered the fight 2-2 in the UFC, with his two losses coming by decision to Davi Ramos and Mark O. Madsen, who are elite grapplers.

Rakic takes on Smith in the main event of this Saturday’s UFC on ESPN+ 33 event. Oddsmakers have instilled Rakic as a hefty betting favorite entering the fight. Prior to dropping a narrow split decision to Volkan Oezdemir, Rakic was riding a four-fight win streak in the UFC. Had he beaten Oezdemir, he would be in the title mix right now.

Robbie Lawler not thinking about retirement "at all"

Former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler says he’s not thinking about retirement “at all” heading into his fight against Neil Magny. Lawler filled in on short notice for Geoff Neal against Magny, and the two will now lock horns in the co-main event of this Saturday’s UFC on ESPN+ 33 event. For the veteran Lawler, if he wants to make one more run at the title at age 38 then he needs to get a win here in order to snap his current three-fight losing skid. But win or lose against Magny, Lawler says he is not thinking about hanging up his gloves, which some have suggested.

UFC heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis recently had a very close call while riding an ATV outside his home with his young son. In a video captured by his home security cameras, Lewis can be seen sitting on his ATV, lifting his son onto the vehicle to join him. His son then seemingly hits the gas, sending the ATV careening through a small garden, into a stone pillar, and finally out onto the lawn.
Renan Barao set to return to MMA against fellow UFC veteran Bobby Moffett

Former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao is set to take on Bobby Moffett in his first fight since being cut from the UFC roster. According to a report from Combate, Barao will take on Moffett in a featherweight contest at a Taura MMA event scheduled for November 22 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Taura MMA is an emerging promotion that has recently signed fighters such as Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Rousimar Palhares to fight for its promotion. Barao was another one of its big signings, having recently inked a deal with the company, as was Moffett, another ex-UFC fighter.
