Chael Sonnen has not taken kindly to UFC lightweight Paddy Pimblett accusing him of ‘clickbait.’ The Brit was strongly rumoured to be fighting Donald Cerrone but ‘the Baddy’ appeared on Michael Bisping’s podcast where he denied the fight was happening and accused Sonnen of stirring the pot for clicks.

Paddy Pimblett doesn’t see a reason to fight anyone ranked on his current contract. Pimblett made his UFC debut back in September and scored a first-round KO over Luigi Vendramini. It was a highlight-reel finish and after the fight, many wondered what would be next for him, with some thinking he would get a ranked opponent, but Pimblett says that will not be the case.

Pimblett said that he was kicked out of Liverpool’s 5-0 win over Watford on Saturday in a video that he shared on social media. Not long after he added some extra context in a Twitter message. According to Pimblett, he was booted due to cheering his own team.

Former Cage Warriors champion and new UFC star Paddy Pimblett responded to the recent callout from UFC Vegas 38 winner Jared Gordon. Gordon defeated Joe Solecki via split decision in a grind of a fight that served as the headliner of the UFC Vegas 38 preliminary card. For Gordon, it’s his third straight win in the UFC and his first since moving back up to 155lbs. Immediately following his big win over Solecki, Gordon used his post-fight interview as the chance to call out Pimblett. The Brit recently made his UFC debut with a KO win over Luigi Vendramini and Gordon hopes that he gets the chance to fight him next. And it appears as though Pimblett is interested, too.

It was a fantastic victory for the Brit, who earned a $50,000 bonus for his comeback KO victory. Of course, Pimblett is a bit of a controversial figure due to his bold takes and some of the things he’s said about the bigger-name fighters in MMA, including the former UFC lightweight champion Nurmagomedov, who he recently called a “Karen.” Speaking on the UFC Unfiltered Podcast, Pimblett explained those comments.

The former Cage Warriors champion has never been shy about speaking his mind, and has now fired shots at Khabib Nurmagomedov following ‘the Eagle’s’ comments about his appearance on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast. With Nurmagomedov now retired, the chances of Pimblett getting to fight him one day seem remote. They are however, in the same division. With that in mind, perhaps the Liverpool-native is seeking to plant the seed in case there is a chance of one day facing the Dagestani icon.

Pimblett, a native of Liverpool himself, makes his UFC debut on September 4 when he takes on Luigi Vendramini in a lightweight contest. Pimblett, a former Cage Warriors champion, signed with the UFC earlier this year and his debut is highly-anticipaed. While he still has to step into the Octagon and beat Vendramini before he makes any sort of callouts, it’s clear that Pimblett is already looking far ahead, and wants to fight Ireland’s McGregor.
