Former UFC champion Jon Jones explained why he’s “so glad” that Glover Teixeira defeated Thiago Santos in the main event of UFC Vegas 13. Jones, of course, previously fought both Teixeira and Santos. “Bones” defeated Teixeira at UFC 172 in 2014 via unanimous decision back when he was in his prime, and he later beat Santos via split decision at UFC 239 in a razor-thin fight. So if anyone knows a thing or two about how Teixeira and Santos operate inside the Octagon cage, it’s Jones.

UFC legend Jon Jones has reacted to the news that Israel Adesanya will be moving up to light heavyweight to challenge Jan Blachowicz. Following UFC Vegas 12, Dana White had announced that Adesanya would be moving up in weight to take on Blachowicz in 2021 and attempt to become a two-division champion. Adesanya is already the UFC’s middleweight champion and he will be looking to join the exclusive club of two-weight champs in UFC history. Of course, the timing here is interesting as Adesanya announced his move up in weight only after Jones left the 205lbs division.

Adesanya and Jones have had a feud for quite some time and many figured Adesanya would move up to challenge “Bones” for his light heavyweight title. However, that is not the case as Jones vacated and now “The Last Stylebender” will face Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight title in 2021.

Jones squeaked by to win a split decision over Santos at UFC 239, but he dominated Smith in their title fight at UFC 235. Jones is not the UFC light heavyweight champion any longer, but he continues to take shots at his former rival Smith. There is no love lost between these two as Jones took another poke at “Lionheart.”

Jan Blachowicz has a theory as to why Jon Jones vacated his light heavyweight belt and now has a planned move up to heavyweight. At UFC 253, Blachowicz fought and beat Dominick Reyes to win the vacant light heavyweight title. Immediately after the fight, Jones tweeted asking fans if he should go try and reclaim his belt.
