Henry Cejudo thinks Leon Edwards would be an easy fight for Colby Covington. After Edwards defended his welterweight title for the first time against Kamaru Usman at UFC 286 in London, Dana White announced Covington would be next. However, Edwards has been vocal in saying he doesn’t want that fight as ‘Chaos’ doesn’t deserve it. But, if the fight does happen, Cejudo thinks it’s a good style matchup for Covington to win.

Henry Cejudo doesn’t appear to be sold on his UFC Bantamweight Championship match against Aljamain Sterling actually taking place on May 6. Cejudo is set to challenge Sterling for the top prize in the UFC’s male bantamweight division in the main event of UFC 288. The action will be held inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Cejudo took to his Twitter account to suggest to the UFC brass that Sterling’s teammate and close friend Merab Dvalishvili serve as a backup opponent in case Sterling pulls out of the fight (h/t MMAFighting).

While it hasn’t been officially announced, the UFC has heavily teased that Jon Jones will defend his UFC heavyweight championship against Stipe Miocic during International Fight Week. Jon captured the belt last weekend when he submitted Ciryl Gane in just two minutes at UFC 285.

Sean O’Malley will not be the backup fighter at UFC 288. On May 6, the bantamweight title is reportedly up for grabs as Aljamain Sterling will take on the former champ, Henry Cejudo. It’s an intriguing matchup but it left O’Malley without a next opponent and he revealed to ESPN that he was offered the backup fighter role but decided to turn it down.

Henry Cejudo isn’t sold that his UFC 288 title fight against Aljamain Sterling on May 6 will happen. Cejudo and Sterling have been linked to a fight since UFC 284 in February and at one point were slated to compete in April at UFC 287. Most recently, ‘Funkmaster’ announced that the fight was officially set for May 6, however Cejudo wonders if Sterling will actually make the walk to the Octagon as he believes the bantamweight champ is afraid of him.

Aljamain Sterling vs. Henry Cejudo has been delayed again. Sterling and Cejudo were linked to fighting one another at UFC 285 in March but that didn’t come to fruition. The hope then became to rebook the fight for April. Now, however, Sterling revealed the fight is being targeted to happen in May, but he promises the scrap will happen. When the two do share the Octagon, Sterling is confident he will get his hand raised and will serve as a reminder that Cejudo should’ve stayed retired.

The Aljamain Sterling vs. Henry Cejudo bantamweight title fight is now pushed back to April’s UFC 287 event. ‘Funk Master’ (22-3 MMA) is sporting an 8-fight winning streak, his last victory coming in October of last year at UFC 280 where he defeated T.J. Dillashaw (17-5 MMA) via a second round TKO.  It was to be Sterlings second title defence as champion.

Henry Cejudo has criticized Brandon Moreno for some of the comments he made following his victory at UFC 283. Last weekend at UFC 283, Brandon Moreno did it again. He beat Deiveson Figueiredo to become the new UFC flyweight champion. It came after a dominant performance, although the bout ended in unfortunate circumstances with the Brazilian crowd turning on Moreno after what they thought was an eye poke.

Henry Cejudo has given his thoughts on the progress of Jon Jones as he gears up for his return at UFC 285. Last weekend, it was announced that Jon Jones will return to action at UFC 285. On that night in Las Vegas, he’ll battle Ciryl Gane for the UFC heavyweight championship. The news broke after it was announced that Francis Ngannou had been released from his contract with the promotion.

Aljamain Sterling wants to fight Henry Cejudo next but understands if ‘Triple C’ decides to face Sean O’Malley instead. Sterling and Cejudo have been taking shots at each other for quite some time and both said they agreed to fight one another on March 4 at UFC 285. However, Sterling then revealed he had a torn bicep and wanted to get that fixed before taking a fight.
