Henry Cejudo recently made headlines after calling out Valentina Shevchenko to fight him in a potential ‘inter-gender’ bout. The ‘champ champ’ is seemingly envious of Shevchenko’s time in the spotlight since her win at UFC Uruguay over Liz Carmouche. Current UFC ‘champ champ’ Henry Cejudo is not happy that fans and analysts are touting Valentina Shevchenko as the most dominant MMA champion in the world. Earlier this week the former UFC lightweight champion, Edgar, announced that he would be dropping down from his recent home at featherweight to compete in the UFC’s 135-pound division.

Michael Bisping is no stranger to saying things that are, shall we say, cause for debate. The former UFC middleweight champion and newest Hall of Famer looks to have done it again when it comes to current two-division champs Amanda Nunes and Henry Cejudo. Earlier this month, Cejudo joked that he wants to take every championship in the UFC — including those that belong to Amanda Nunes. Despite the comedic connotation attached to the statements of the reigning UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion, Bisping says he would love to see the fight.

After Henry Cejudo beat Marlon Moraes at UFC 238 to become the bantamweight champion he called out a bevy of names including Urijah Faber. Then, at UFC Sacramento, “The California Kid” knocked out Ricky Simon in 46 seconds and returned the favor by calling out Cejudo. Since the callouts, many are interested in seeing that fight and even the UFC Hall of Famer said the chances of the fight happening next are very good. According to Cejudo’s manager in Ali Abdelaziz, however, he doesn’t believe Urijah Faber deserves it and instead should fight Marlon Moraes for the chance to fight the champ-champ.

Michael Bisping wouldn’t be opposed to seeing Urijah Faber jump the line in the UFC bantamweight division. Back in Dec. 2016, Faber ended his professional mixed martial arts career. He walked off on his terms, defeating Brad Pickett via unanimous decision in Sacramento. Faber was later inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. For Faber, however, the itch to compete didn’t go away.

Having defeated Simon, Faber is once again back in the bantamweight title conversation. He could even be the next man in line for the reigning champion Henry Cejudo. When Faber first began teasing his return to action, however, he was interested in a fight with his former student TJ Dillashaw.

UFC president Dana White wouldn’t be surprised if “champ-champ” Henry Cejudo defends his bantamweight gold first. Cejudo captured the bantamweight gold earlier this month. “Triple C” earned a third-round TKO victory over Marlon Moraes in the main event of UFC 238. Cejudo was already the flyweight champion going into the bout. While White has said that the men’s 125-pound division will stick around, Cejudo’s surgery could leave both the flyweight and bantamweight divisions at a standstill.

Joseph Benavidez already has a victory over Henry Cejudo and he feels lightning can strike twice. Benavidez and Cejudo shared the cage back in Dec. 2016. Cejudo was coming off a first-round TKO loss to Demetrious Johnson. In the first round against Benavidez, Cejudo was deducted a point for low blows. The bout went the distance and Benavidez was awarded the split decision victory. Since that bout, Cejudo has gone 5-0 and he is the UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion.

Before Henry Cejudo fought Marlon Moraes at UFC 238, he said a win over the top bantamweight fighter would make him the top pound-for-pound fighter in the sport. After all, he was already the flyweight champion and was looking to become the bantamweight title holder as well, this in addition to being a former Olympic gold medalist. “First and foremost guys. You guys are acting a little shy. I would like to start off by, I’ve been called some nasty things in my life and I’m sick of it,” Henry Cejudo said at his media luncheon before UFC 238. “I’ve been called a gold digger, I’ve been called a son of a gold, I’ve been called an Olympic champion, UFC champion, Hall of Famer, author, dreamcatcher, dream snatcher, G.O.A.T. killer, the king of cringe, greatest combat athlete of all-time. But, never have I been called the ‘P’ word and I’m sick of it.

Like many fight fans, UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo tuned in for BKFC 6 on Saturday night. And like many onlookers, he was very impressed to see UFC veteran Artem Lobov pick up an upset, decision victory over multiple-time boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi in the card’s main event. In fact, Cejudo was so impressed with Lobov’s performance against the boxer that it got him thinking about a boxing showdown of his own.
