UFC middleweight Darren Till has explained why it’s important for him to be around someone like Khamzat Chimaev. The last few years have been pretty turbulent for Darren Till inside the Octagon. While he’s managed to pick up wins over the likes of Stephen Thompson and Kelvin Gastelum, he’s also suffered a string of defeats that have left him with a 1-4 record in his last five fights. In the midst of that, he’s also been finished by Tyron Woodley, Jorge Masvidal and, most recently, Derek Brunson.

A blossoming friendship that seems to be emerging within the UFC sphere as of late is the one shared between Darren Till and Khamzat Chimaev. After going back and forth with one another over social media, and even sharing a bizarre Instagram Live session, Till has opted to head over to Sweden and train with “Borz”. It seems as if there’s some real progress being made and while “The Gorilla” still has a lot of work left to do before becoming an elite middleweight, he’s in the right place to help him grow.

Khamzat Chimaev is doing his best to motivate Darren Till as the pair train together at the Allstars Training Center in Sweden. Chimaev (10-0 MMA), age 27, has taken the UFC by storm since making his Octagon debut in July of 2020. ‘The Wolf’ has scored stoppage wins in all four of his UFC fights, finishing opponents John Phillips, Rhys McKee, Gerald Meerschaert and Li Jingliang along the way.

UFC middleweight Darren Till has hit back at Uriah Hall as their war of words over social media continues. Darren Till and Uriah Hall are, respectively, coming off the back of notable losses to Derek Brunson and Sean Strickland. While they’re both still capable of stringing together a nice win streak, the popular opinion amongst many is that neither fighter will be challenging for the UFC middleweight championship anytime soon.

Till is recognized for being a bit of a comedian whereas Strickland, to put it lightly, says things that can often be construed as controversial.

9 years ago UFC star Darren Till was the victim of a stabbing and today he issued a powerful message in wake of Ava White’s tragic death. Till’s hometown of Liverpool, England, has struggled to contain knife crime and on November 25 a 12-year-old by the name of Ava White was stabbed and killed in the city.

Sean Strickland is not interested in fighting Darren Till, but he’s provided two ideal opponents for his next UFC appearance. Strickland (24-3 MMA) was slated to compete against former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold earlier this month at UFC 268. Unfortunately, ‘Rocky’ was forced to pullout of the contest due to injury and Sean was removed from the card.

UFC middleweight contender Darren Till says he is interested in facing Sean Strickland in his UFC return, saying that “I think it would be a good fight.” Till is coming off of a lopsided stoppage loss to Derek Brunson in his last fight, and overall he has struggled lately. Till is just 1-4 in his last five fights, but he is still ranked at No. 8 in the UFC middleweight division so he still has some leverage when it comes to his next fight. If it was up to Till, he would get the chance to fight someone else ranked near him in his next fight. The man one spot above him in the rankings at No. 7 is Strickland. As far as Till goes, Strickland would be a good matchup for him and he wants the UFC to book it.

UFC Vegas 36 is officially in the books and throughout the card we saw a pretty fascinating mixture of results. Darren Till was going into his fight with Derek Brunson with a severe injury, Michael Bisping revealed. Till suffered a third-round submission loss to Brunson on Saturday in a fight the Englishman was the favorite to win. It was a disappointing performance as he was dominated from bell to bell before tapping out due to a rear-naked choke.

UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping explained why fellow British-born MMA fighter Darren Till should move back down to welterweight. Till lost his second straight fight and suffered his fourth loss in his last five fights overall with a third-round rear-naked choke defeat to veteran Derek Brunson at UFC Vegas 36. While Till did hurt Brunson at one point on the feet, he spent the majority of the fight on his back being controlled by Brunson and getting his face smashed in with ground and pound before the veteran sunk in the finishing choke in the third round. For Till, this was a tough loss that essentially shuts down any notion of him being a middleweight title contender anytime soon. Although he’s only 28, he needs to get back in the win column.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 36, top-10 middleweights collided as Derek Brunson took on Darren Till who was returning after more than a year away. Brunson entered the fight on a four-fight winning streak and coming off a dominant decision victory over Kevin Holland. Prior to that, he TKO’d Edmen Shahbazyan in another dominant performance. His other wins were decision victories over Ian Heinisch and Elias Theodorou. Till, meanwhile, was coming off a decision loss to Robert Whittaker and was dealing with a collarbone injury.

The 37-year-old has not suffered defeat since November of 2018, when he was TKO’s by reigning UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

The official weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 36 took place on Friday in Las Vegas, and 19 of the 20 fighters scheduled to compete made weight. In the headliner, both Derek Brunson and Darren Till successfully made weight for their middleweight clash. Both Brunson and Till are top-10 ranked fighters in the UFC middleweight division and the winner of this fight should be close to getting a title shot at 185lbs. Brunson successfully made weight at 186lbs, while Till made weight at 185.5lbs.
