Kris Moutinho congratulated by Daniel Cormier following UFC 264: “You’re the most savage SOB I’ve ever met”
Adam D Martin - July 12, 2021
UFC commentator Daniel Cormier congratulated Kris Moutinho following UFC 264, telling him that “you’re the most savage SOB I’ve ever met.” Cormier was part of the commentary team that called Moutinho’s fight on Saturday night at UFC 264 against top bantamweight prospect Sean O’Malley. Despite Moutinho taking the fight on extremely short notice, he put on a memorable show for the fans as he was able to continue walking forward and eating shots like a zombie as O’Malley lit him up with combinations. Although O’Malley landed 230 significant strikes in the fight — the second-most all-time in a three-round UFC fight behind Nate Diaz — the story of the fight was arguably Moutinho’s heart as he was able to absorb so much punishment and keep ticking.

For UFC 263, however, the promotion has decided to make one change, as Cormier is out of the booth for this event and Felder is in. MMAjunkie.com first reported on the change in the booth. Cormier said earlier this week that he has a family commitment this weekend, which is why he is not working the event.

Adam D Martin - May 25, 2021

In what was a complete mauling, Cormier was able to throw Henderson to the floor with an incredible slam. Seven years after the fight and Cormier posted a throwback video on his social media where he reminisced about one of the best victories of his MMA career.
Daniel Cormier on a potential Georges St-Pierre vs. Oscar De La Hoya boxing match: 'It’s too risky for us as a community'
Drake Riggs - May 24, 2021
Daniel Cormier doesn’t like the idea of Georges St-Pierre getting into the boxing scene for a match with Oscar De La Hoya. Unfortunately for St-Pierre, the UFC has put an end to any of those hopes of making the match happen – at least for the time being. The former UFC dual-division champion in Cormier ultimately views that as a good thing as he believes the risk outweighs the reward when it comes to the Canadian icon’s legacy.

The main event of the evening saw Oliveira knock out Chandler in the second round to become the new UFC lightweight champion, but he’s fortunate he was able to finish the fight and now have the judges involved. After the fight was over, it was revealed that two of the three judges gave 10-8 to Chandler in the first round despite Oliveira having his back during the round.
Daniel Cormier weighs in on Tony Ferguson’s future following latest loss: “Ferguson, as a top-level mixed martial artist, is done”
Adam D Martin - May 18, 2021
Daniel Cormier weighed in on Tony Ferguson’s future following his last loss, saying “Ferguson, as a top-level mixed martial artist, is done.” Ferguson is coming off of a lopsided loss to Beneil Dariush at UFC 262 this past weekend, his third straight loss following a unanimous decision defeat to Charles Oliveira in his last fight and a TKO defeat to Justin Gaethje before that. While Ferguson had a 12-fight winning streak heading into 2020, he has since gone 0-3 and has lost his last 11 rounds in a row. It feels like Ferguson has really lost a step, and there are some suggestions he might be completely done. Cormier is one of those who believes that he has nothing left.

Daniel Cormier says Jon Jones doesn't deserve Conor McGregor money
Adam D Martin - May 4, 2021
UFC commentator Daniel Cormier says that former rival Jon Jones doesn’t deserve Conor McGregor money when he fights Francis Ngannou. Jones is hoping to fight Ngannou for the UFC heavyweight title sometime later this year, and reports have indicated he is asking upwards of $30 million for the fight. If you ask Cormier, however, that is too rich because it would be more than McGregor, the UFC’s biggest pay-per-view superstar. For DC, it doesn’t make sense that Jones should be paid more than McGregor. Speaking on the “DC and Helwani” podcast, Cormier suggested that Jones be paid in the $8 to $10 million dollar range to take on Ngannou instead.

Daniel Cormier says he would "kill" Jake Paul if they ever fought, suggests Luke Rockhold fight him instead
Adam D Martin - April 20, 2021
UFC commentator Daniel Cormier doesn’t believe Jake Paul actually wants to fight him because he would get destroyed if they ever fought. Cormier, the former UFC double champion, posted his hilarious reaction of watching Ben Askren get finished by Paul at Saturday’s boxing event. The two then got into a bit of a back-and-forth on social media, so it wasn’t a surprise that Cormier had some harsh words for Paul on his podcast.

The victory marked Ngannou’s fifth in a row, as he had previously scored first round stoppage wins over Junior dos Santos, Cain Velasquez, Curtis Blaydes and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
Daniel Cormier encourages fans to appreciate UFC champions while they are still here
Adam D Martin - March 30, 2021
UFC legend Daniel Cormier encouraged fans to appreciate the sport’s champions while they are still here because they won’t be here forever. There has been a changing of the guard lately in the sport. Cormier himself, one of the sport’s all-time greats, retired last summer. Cormier’s teammate at American Kickboxing Academy, former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, recently hung up his gloves and retired from the sport. At UFC 260, Cormier’s longtime rival Stipe Miocic was knocked out by Francis Ngannou and could be contemplating retirement. The same goes for former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, who lost to Vicente Luque on the same card. With four straight losses, UFC president Dana White hinted Woodley is done.
