Tate announced this week that she is coming out of a five-year retirement to face Reneau this summer, in what will ironically be Reneau’s retirement fight. The last time we saw Tate in the cage was at UFC 205 in November 2016 when she lost a decision to Raquel Pennington, just a few months after losing the UFC women’s bantamweight title to Amanda Nunes at UFC 200. Dana White: "I'm thinking about doing Julianna Pena and Amanda Nunes"
Adam Martin - March 25, 2021
UFC president Dana White confirmed that he is thinking about booking UFC women’s bantamweight championship Amanda Nunes vs. Julianna Pena. Nunes is coming off of a quick submission win over Megan Anderson at UFC 259 in a 145lbs title defense, and the promotion is looking to turn her back around quickly in a 135lbs title fight. The one fighter in the women’s bantamweight division who has been the most vocal about getting the fight with Nunes is Pena, the former “The Ultimate Fighter” winner. Pena is coming off of a submission win over Sara McMann and she believes that win should be enough to get her the title shot in what is a shallow division in terms of fresh contenders.

Adam D Martin - March 19, 2021
Former UFC heavyweight Junior dos Santos is upset by the cold way the UFC and Dana White cut him, saying “I haven’t talked to him in years.” White said late last year that the UFC would be making 60 cuts from its roster, and some of them were going to be tough cuts. In recent weeks, both dos Santos and Alistair Overeem, two staples of the UFC heavyweight division for the past decade, were both released. Both men are getting up there in age and both fighters are coming off of TKO losses, to Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov, respectively, but it was still surprising to see two top-15 heavyweights get the boot. White suggested it was due to their age and their recent performances, but others have suggested their paychecks were part of the reason, too.

Lewis picked up one of the biggest upset wins of 2021 when he KOed Blaydes with a nasty uppercut in the main event of UFC Vegas 19. Lewis was a +350 betting underdog heading into the fight and he shocked the world when he caught Blaydes right on the chin after a sloppy takedown shot. Lewis is one of the best heavyweights in the sport, not to mention one of MMA’s best personalities, so it’s not surprising he has caught the attention of Tyson. From one KO artist to another, there seems to be a lot of mutual appreciation here.
