Former UFC welterweight Dan Hardy said that Conor McGregor is a “better martial artist” than Dustin Poirier ahead of their trilogy at UFC 264. McGregor and Poirier meet this Saturday night in the main event of UFC 264 as the two bitter rivals look to finally put a conclusion to their longstanding feud. Ahead of this weekend’s blockbuster fight, Hardy spoke to Submission Radio and was asked to give his expert opinion on the fight. The longtime analyst is a fan of both fighters, but it’s the opinion of “The Outlaw” that McGregor is actually the superior martial artist of the two.

We found out last week that UFC president Dana White shut down GSP vs. de la Hoya after not taking phone calls from Triller executive Ryan Kavanaugh. GSP himself confirmed that the fight was blocked and that he was upset because he wanted to have a fun fight with one of his idols in de la Hoya and then give most of the money to charity. But White refused to let St-Pierre out of his UFC contract to join the Triller Fight Club promotion.

Former UFC welterweight contender Dan Hardy has confirmed that he has been officially released from the UFC after requesting his dismissal. Hardy earlier this week posted a Tweet that suggested he had been ‘freed’ from his UFC contract. On Thursday, “The Outlaw” confirmed with MMAFighting.com that he has indeed been officially let go by the UFC at his own request. Hardy said that he received his release letter on Tuesday, which means that he is now a free agent and free to sign with any promotion. He has already hinted that he could be in talks with RIZIN in Japan and has suggested that he could fight Nick Diaz there, though Diaz is still under UFC contract.

However, Hardy has continued to train the whole time and has promised fans that he will step into the Octagon one more time before it’s all said and done.
