We’re first joined by the UFC’s featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski (3:23). Fifth-ranked strawweight, Mackenzie Dern (26:57) then comes on. UFC welterweight, Ian Garry (42:58) joins the show. Korean Zombie’s head coach, Eddie Cha (1:04:42) then stops by. Eighth-ranked UFC heavyweight, Jairzinho Rozenstruik (1:18:29) then joins the show. UFC lightweight, Vinc Pichel (1:30:45) comes on. Closing out the program is UFC heavyweight, Jared Vanderaa (1:47:37).

Cole Shelton - April 4, 2022

Henry Cejudo has all the confidence that his teammate, Korean Zombie will become the new featherweight champion on Saturday. Zombie trains out of Fight Ready in Arizona and Cejudo has been coaching him for his title fight against Volkanovski at UFC 273. Although ‘Triple C’ was campaigning for the fight himself, but has taken a back seat to coach Zombie instead. Since working with him, Cejudo now believes this is a terrible style matchup for the champ as he believes Zombie will find the KO shot.

Alex Volkanovski has a prediction for Khamzat Chimaev vs. Gilbert Burns and it’s a doozy. Chimaev and Burns are set to collide on April 9. The two will clash on the main card of UFC 273. Volkanovski headlines the card, putting the UFC Featherweight Championship on the line against the “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung.

UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski has said he regrets accusing Max Holloway of faking an injury. At UFC 273 next month, Alex Volkanovski will defend his 145-pound title against Chan Sung Jung – aka The Korean Zombie. However, the bout was initially supposed to see him clash with Max Holloway in what would serve as the third fight in their trilogy series.

Alexander Volkanovski has revealed a dream fight of his. ‘The Great’ is currently set to face Chan Sung Jung next month at UFC 273. The bout will be another defense of his featherweight crown, one that he took from Max Holloway back in 2019. He then scored another victory over ‘Blessed’ in 2020 at UFC 251.

UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski has called out Max Holloway and accused him of never being injured, as was reported. Just a few weeks ago it was announced that Alex Volkanovski and Max Holloway would finally settle the score in a trilogy fight at UFC 273. However, a couple of days later, Holloway was forced to withdraw from the contest due to injury.

Max Holloway has the possibility to find himself in a strange position come April. The Hawaiian was previously booked in a trilogy bout against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 272. The fight had a lot of fan demand behind it, which is why it was made despite Holloway being down 2-0 in the series against ‘The Great’.

UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski has responded to the recent callout he’s received from Yair Rodriguez. While he may be preparing to defend his 145-pound title against The Korean Zombie at UFC 273, Alex Volkanovski can’t seem to shake off the other contenders who feel as if they should’ve been the ones to get a shot at the gold. Giga Chikadze is one example, with another being the always-vocal Yair Rodriguez.

Henry Cejudo, after defending his bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 on May 9th, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida, ultimately made the decision to retire. However, after Max Holloway withdrew his name from a trilogy fight with Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 272, Cejudo (16-2 MMA), threw his name into the mix. Apparently a title shot against Volkanovski would be enough to bring ‘Triple C’ out of retirement.

Henry Cejudo was hoping to earn ‘C4’ status by challenging reigning UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski. Cejudo (16-2 MMA) has been calling for a fight with Volkanovski for some time, so when Max Holloway was forced to withdraw from his scheduled trilogy with the Aussie at UFC 272, ‘Triple C’ immediately offered up his services to Dana White and company.

Henry Cejudo has sent a message to UFC President Dana White in hopes of securing a fight with Alex Volkanovski. Henry Cejudo (16-2 MMA) last competed in at UFC 249 in May of 2020, where he successfully defended his bantamweight strap with a TKO victory over Dominick Cruz. Immediately following the conclusion of that contest, ‘Triple C’ would announce his retirement from the sport of mixed martial arts.

UFC featherweight Max Holloway has been forced to pull out of his UFC 272 trilogy showdown with Alexander Volkanovski. ESPN is reporting that Holloway, who accepted the fight just a matter of days ago, aggravated an old injury on Thursday and will therefore be unable to compete on the March 5 card in Las Vegas. As of this writing, no official statement has been made by the UFC regarding a potential replacement or whether the fight will be rescheduled for a later date.

Petr Yan and Alexander Volkanovski have opened as the two betting favorites for UFC 272 after their recent fight announcements. While a lot of the UFC’s immediate focus is going on UFC 270, and understandably so, the UFC 272 pay-per-view in March is already beginning to take shape. The promotion recently announced that it will be headlined by two blockbuster title bouts: Alexander Volkanovski vs Max Holloway 3 for the UFC featherweight title, and Aljamain Sterling vs Petr Yan 2 for the UFC bantamweight title.

Henry Cejudo believes Alexander Volkanovski vs. Brian Ortega at UFC 266 was the greatest fight in MMA history. Volkanovski was looking to defend his belt for the second time as he took on Ortega in a highly-anticipated bout. The two coached TUF and on the show, they began to dislike one another which only added to the excitement of the fight.

Two title fights have been announced for UFC 272 in March, including Aljamain Sterling vs. Petr Yan 2. UFC President Dana White revealed to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto that Sterling will look to defend his belt at the event in a rematch against Petr Yan. In addition, Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway will also have their trilogy bout at the pay-per-view event likely to take place in Las Vegas on March 5.

Dan Hooker may be returning to his old division of 145-pounds where his teammate, Alexander Volkanovski, reigns supreme as champion. This wouldn’t be the first time Hooker fights at featherweight if it does happen. Entering the UFC in June 2014, Hooker returned to the class after a lightweight stint and went 3-3 before moving back up in 2017.

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski explained why a Henry Cejudo fight doesn’t benefit him, but mostly benefits Cejudo. Cejudo has been calling out Volkanovski for months as he wants to return to the UFC at a third weight class and look to make history by winning a third UFC belt in a third division. Volkanovski, meanwhile, has not conveyed much interest in the fight as he already has a long list of challengers vying for his gold at 145lbs, including former champ Max Holloway.
