Tonight’s UFC Vegas 105 event is headlined by a key men’s featherweight matchup featuring Josh Emmett taking on Lerone Murphy. Emmett (19-4 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since scoring a devastating knockout victory over Bryce Mitchell this past December at UFC 296 (see that here). The UFC Vegas 105 weigh-in results are in, and there has been one fight cancellation. The main event featherweight clash between Josh Emmett and Lerone Murphy remains intact. Emmett tipped the scales at 146 pounds, while Murphy clocked in at 145.5 pounds. Co-headliners Pat Sabatini and Joanderson Brito also made weight for their own featherweight scrap. Sabatini weighed in at 145.5 pounds, and his opponent’s weight was 146 pounds.

Josh Emmett doesn’t understand why he’s such a big underdog against Lerone Murphy at UFC Vegas 105. Emmett hasn’t fought since December of 2023, when he knocked out Bryce Mitchell. Despite Emmett fighting someone below him in the rankings, he is a +240 underdog, which he doesn’t get. However, he says he does like that as he wants all his fans to make money off him.

Josh Emmett believes that Lerone Murphy will be in for a rude awakening at UFC Vegas 105 on Saturday night. Emmett is set to headline the Fight Night card from the Apex on Saturday against Murphy in a pivotal featherweight scrap. Emmett is set to make his 15th UFC appearance and will be headlining for the third time. Heading into the bout, Emmett believes his experience will be a factor as he thinks Lerone Murphy is still learning on the job.

Josh Emmett doesn’t consider himself to be a modern day Nostradamus, but he does know who he’s leaning towards picking for the UFC 298 main event. Headlining that planned February 17 pay-per-view will be reigning UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski. He’ll be putting his gold at stake against undefeated challenger Ilia Topuria. It’s a tough fight to call between a dominant champion, who is coming off a devastating KO loss to lightweight titleholder Islam Makhachev, and the rising Topuria. As it stands now, Volkanovski is the -155 betting favorite, while Topuria is a +130 underdog, per DraftKings Sportsbook.

Josh Emmett has called out former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway. Emmett (18-4 MMA) last fought Bryce Mitchell (16-1 MMA) this past December at UFC 296 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 38-year-old managed to KO Mitchell at 1:57 of Round 1 to get back in the win column (see that here).

Josh Emmett says his first-ever KO when he was an amateur is still his most ferocious. Emmett has been known for his KO power in the UFC featherweight division as he has earned four of his ten wins by KO, and when he does knock an opponent out, he usually shuts their lights off. He’s also recorded an incredible 12 knockdowns in 14 UFC fights, including recording four against Felipe Arantes in 2017.

UFC featherweight contender Josh Emmett believes a fight with Max Holloway is in order. ‘The Fighting Falmer’ returned to the cage over the weekend at UFC 296. While he was first slated to face Giga Chikadze, the former title challenger instead faced Bryce Mitchell. In their featherweight clash over the weekend, Josh Emmett scored a vicious knockout win over ‘Thug Nasty’.

Bryce Mitchell admits he’s very thankful to Josh Emmett. Mitchell stepped up on short notice to face Emmett in a pivotal fight for the featherweight division win. Despite stepping up on 10 days’ notice, Mitchell was a sizeable betting favorite to beat Emmett at UFC 296.

Bryce Mitchell has spoken out on his UFC 296 loss against Josh Emmett at UFC 296. Mitchell took on Emmett on the main card of the UFC’s final event of 2023. This was supposed to be a preliminary bout, but with the removal of Ian Garry vs. Vicente Luque, the Mitchell vs. Emmett fight received a promotion. Mitchell was on the wrong end of a one-punch knockout in the opening frame. There was some concern for Mitchell, who appeared to be convulsing when he was unconscious, but the good news is he seems to be doing well in the aftermath.

Mitchell (16-1 MMA) accepted tonight’s fight on short notice, this after Emmett’s original opponent Giga Chikadze was forced out due to injury. ‘Thug Nasty’ is coming off a unanimous decision win over Dan Ige in his most recent effort this past September. That victory was of course preceded by his first career loss, which came at the hands of top contender Ilia Topuria by way of submission.

Giga Chikadze has been forced out of his UFC 296 fight against Josh Emmett. Emmett took to social media on Monday evening to reveal that Chikadze is out of their fight next weekend at UFC 296. He also confirmed he wants to remain on the card and is hopeful to get a replacement opponent.

Former interim UFC featherweight title challenger Josh Emmett plans to make his next fight his last. ‘The Fighting Falmer’ has been out of the cage since a clash with Ilia Topuria last month at UFC Jacksonville. ‘El Matador’ entered the matchup calling for a title shot against Alexander Volkanovski, and he fought like it. In the end, Ilia Topuria turned in a historic win last month against the longtime contender.

Ilia Topuria is extremely confident heading into a potential title fight against Alexander Volkanovski. In the main event of UFC 290, Volkanovski defended his featherweight title with a third-round TKO over Yair Rodriguez. Following the win, it’s uncertain what will be next for the Aussie as he may move up to lightweight, but if he stays at featherweight, Topuria believes he should be the fight.
