Tonight’s “Legends 2” event was originally slated to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. However, the fight card was moved after headliner Oscar De La Hoya was forced out due to illness, and Evander Holyfield was booked as the short-notice replacement for Vitor Belfort. California would not sanction the Holyfield vs Belfort fight to take place in its state and which resulted in the event being moved to Florida.

The Ortiz vs. Silva contest was slated to take place at a catchweight of 195lbs. However, ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ missed weight by five pounds on Friday afternoon, leaving many to wonder if the contest would be called off.

Triller holds its next big event this event this evening at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. The main event of the card features an eight-round heavyweight boxing match between the legendary boxer Holyfield and the former MMA superstar Belfort.

Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort says he is still gunning for Oscar De La Hoya following this weekend’s Evander Holyfield boxing match. Belfort was supposed to take on De La Hoya in the main event of Saturday’s Triller Fight Club boxing pay-per-view card, but the fight was scrapped last week after De La Hoya tested positive for COVID-19. With De La Hoya unable to fight, Trilller was able to sign Holyfield to take on Belfort, although the fight had to be moved to Florida to accommodate Holyfield stepping up on short notice, after California wouldn’t sanction the legend to fight.

Former UFC champion Tito Ortiz says his political career is over ahead of his matchup this weekend against Anderson Silva in a boxing match. Ortiz was the mayor pro tem of his native Huntington Beach, California, but he resigned in June after six months on the job for several reasons including perceived “character assassination.” Not long after Ortiz resigned from his position as mayor pro tem, he was booked for his boxing match this Saturday night against fellow former UFC fighter Silva.

Donald Trump believes he would make quick work of Joe Biden in a boxing match, saying that “I think he would go down very, very quickly.” Trump, the former United States president, is a massive combat sports fan and he will be at this Saturday’s Triller Fight Club: Holyfield vs. Ortiz fight doing alternative commentary. Ahead of this weekend’s big boxing event, Trump called in during the pre-fight press conference to take some questions with the media. One of the questions that Trump was asked if who he would fight if he had the chance to step into the ring with anyone. As far as Trump goes, he would take care of current United States president Joe Biden easily.

Trump will be on the commentary team for Saturday’s ‘Triller: Legends 2’ event. Although new to color commentary, Trump and fighting have been intertwined for some time now, most notably with top contender Colby Covington’s friendship. “Multiple sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ, Trump says he’s making an ‘obscene’ amount of money providing ‘live, alternative commentary’ on the Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort fight. We’re told Triller, the media company behind the event, is paying a fortune … millions and millions for his blow-by-blow analysis, though our sources would not be more specific.” (According to TMZ)

Belfort returns to the pro boxing ring for the first time in 15 years when he takes on Holyfield this weekend for Triller Fight Club. Belfort was originally set to fight Oscar De La Hoya, but the fight was scrapped when De La Hoya had to withdraw due to COVID-19. Instead, Holyfield stepped up on short notice and will now take on Belfort this Saturday.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley provided an update on the “I love Jake Paul” tattoo and a potential rematch between them. The original bet between Woodley and Paul was that the loser of the fight was supposed to get a tattoo of the other’s name, but Woodley didn’t end up getting the tattoo. Instead, “The Chosen One” told “The Problem Child” following his split decision loss that he would get the tattoo if Paul gave him the rematch. The two shook hands in the ring that night, but so far we haven’t heard of any date for the said rematch between these two men.

Holyfield took the fight on about a weeks’ notice and many are worried about him returning to boxing at his age. Yet, on Wednesday, Holyfield had media workouts and he hit the pads which was the first time many saw him do so in years.

The 58-year-old Holyfield makes his return to the boxing ring this Saturday night when he takes on former UFC champion Vitor Belfort in the main event of the Triller Fight Club PPV event. The card, which features a co-main event boxing match between MMA legends Anderson Silva and Tito Ortiz, was originally set to take place in California, but the event was moved to Florida after the California State Athletic Commission refused to sanction Holyfield to fight. Considering he is 58 years old and stepping up on very short notice to take this fight against a dangerous opponent in Belfort, it’s understandable why California said no. Not to mention that Holyfield hasn’t stepped into the ring in over a decade.
