Boxing legend Mike Tyson has opened as the betting favorite ahead of a potential third fight against Evander Holyfield. In his exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. last weekend, Tyson was able to surprise a lot of critics by putting in a really capable performance – despite the limitations that had been placed on the bout. The end result may have been a draw, but many believe Tyson was the one who should’ve had his hand raised.

Portland Trail Blazers superstar point guard Damian Lillard commended former NBA player Nate Robinson for stepping into the boxing ring. Lillard, a five-time NBA All-Star, is one of the top basketball players in the world today. Like many other NBA players, Lillard watched this past weekend’s boxing match featuring the former NBA dunk contest winner Robinson and Jake Paul, a fight that saw Robinson get ‘dunked on’ by Paul as he was brutally knocked out cold. We’ve seen players such as Stephen Curry take a playful jab at Robinson while he was down, while others like Gilbert Arenas defended him. Lillard is more on the Arenas side of things.

He commentated on the Contender Series and was in the booth for Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. on Saturday night. Now, following the event, Snoop Dogg and Triller are teaming up to create their own promotion called The Fight Club.

Heavyweight boxing legend Evander Holyfield told rival Mike Tyson to “sign the contract” for a trilogy fight between the two in 2021. Holyfield and Tyson had one of the most bitter and storied rivalries of the 1990s. In 1996, Holyfield knocked out Tyson to win the world heavyweight championship in boxing. In 1997, the two fought in a rematch in a fight that ended in a disqualification when Tyson bit Holyfield’s ear. For nearly 25 years this has been one of the heated rivalries in all of the combat sports. And it looks like we may finally get some closure.

According to a report from Dan Rafael, the recent boxing pay-per-view event between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. sold 1.2 million PPVs. Tyson and Jones met last Saturday in the main event of a high-profile boxing card that also featured a co-main event between Jake Paul and Nate Robinson. The 54-year-old Tyson and 51-year-old Jones Jr. entertained fans for old time’s sake in an eight-round draw, while Paul knocked out Robinson in the co-main event in a devastating fashion. Also on the card was Badou Jack, plus there were musical performances from the likes of Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa. Overall, it was a big home run of an event for Triller.

30 years after one of the biggest upsets in sports history, Buster Douglas now wants a rematch against heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson. On February 11, 1990, Douglas took on Tyson in a fight where he was a 42-to-1 underdog. At the time, Tyson was 37-0 with 33 knockouts, while Douglas was just 29-4-1, 1 NC. Tyson was just 24 at the time, while Douglas was 30. In one of the most stunning upsets ever seen in sports, Douglas took it to Tyson and brutally knocked him out in the 10th round to become the new world heavyweight boxing champion. Douglas immediately lost the belt to Evander Holyfield in his very next fight.

Claressa Shields, a former Olympic gold medalist in boxing, is making the move to mixed martial arts and surprisingly has signed with PFL. Shields has been teasing a move to MMA for the last few years. In fact, she was a guest of UFC president Dana White at UFC 245 last December in Las Vegas. Many thought that after Amanda Nunes defended the UFC women’s bantamweight title against Germaine de Randamie that night that Shields could potentially be a future opponent. But that fight won’t be happening anytime soon with Shields now in PFL.

Paul knocked out Robinson in absolutely devastating fashion in the co-main event of this past Saturday’s boxing match between legends Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. Robinson, a former NBA dunk champion, looked completely out of place in the fight. Although he says he trained hard, once the bell rung it was clear that Robinson was completely out of his element. Paul scored two knockdowns before scoring the KO blow, which led to a number of NBA playing reacting to the finish on social media.

This past Saturday night, Paul brutally knocked out former NBA player Nate Robinson in the co-main event of the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. boxing card. Since then, athletes from other sports have taken to social media to call Paul out. One of those sports is hockey, as San Jose Sharks power forward Evander Kane called out Paul on Sunday. Kane is a solid hockey player and a pretty good fighter, but he wouldn’t be confused with a heavyweight such as Reaves, the latest NHLer to say he wants Paul.

Tyson returned from a 15-year layoff on Saturday night when he fought fellow veteran Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition boxing match that ended in a controversial draw. On the undercard of the event was a co-main event bout between the YouTuber Paul and former NBA player Nate Robinson. The brutal knockout by Paul became one of the most highly-viewed sports clips of the entire weekend. While there are certainly a lot of people talking about Tyson today, there are many also talking about Paul the YouTuber.
