UFC welterweight Colby Covington tore into referee Marc Goddard in an expletive-filled rant for stopping his title fight against Kamaru Usman at UFC 245. Goddard stepped in and stopped the UFC welterweight title fight at UFC 245 due to TKO with just over a minute left to go. The judges had the fight scored as a split decision heading into the fifth round, and Goddard stopping the bout meant the judges’ scorecards never came into play, though Covington would have likely lost a decision if he made it the distance regardless due to the output of Usman in the fifth round.

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington has denied that be broke his jaw during his title match against Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 245. There has been plenty of speculation that Covington broke his jaw fairly early against Usman and that he continued to fight with it up until the finish late in the fifth round. After losing the fight, Covington was criticized for running backstage and not waiting for the official result to be read, but he also got a pass due to breaking his jaw.

Kamaru Usman doesn’t believe the theory that Ali Abdelaziz hacked his Twitter account is warranted. Abdelaziz is Usman’s manager. Many have shared their viewpoints on the popular MMA manager, and some don’t exactly see him as a wholesome person. Usman, who is the reigning UFC welterweight champion, found himself locked out of his Twitter account on the night of UFC 246. Some nasty tweets aimed at McGregor and others forced the UFC and Twitter to shut down the account temporarily while attempting to get “The Nigerian Nightmare” his access back.

Former top-ranked bantamweight prospect Thomas Almeida hopes to return from a two-year layoff this spring at UFC 250 in his native Brazil. Almeida began his MMA career 16-0 with 16 finishes and was the Legacy FC bantamweight champion when the UFC came calling in 2014. The Brazilian defeated Tim Gorman, Yves Jabouin, Brad Pickett and Anthony Birchak in his first four UFC fights, winning $50,000 bonuses in all four of those fights. At the time, Almeida was unstoppable and looked like he would be a future world champion.
