The Octagon returns to the Mile High City for tonight’s UFC Denver event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Rose Namajunas vs. Tracy Cortez. Namajunas (12-6 MMA) was originally slated to collide with Maycee Barber in tonight’s event headliner, but ‘The Future’ was forced to withdraw from the contest and was replaced by Cortez.

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has refused to pick against Israel Adesanya in his upcoming fight at UFC 305. As we know, Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya have had quite the rivalry over the years. Following on from a 2-0 series win for Pereira in kickboxing, the two went on to compete against each other in mixed martial arts. So far, they’re tied at 1-1, with Adesanya avenging a KO loss to ‘Poatan’ with one of his own.

A video was released of Tracy Cortez deciding to chop off her hair ahead of her UFC Denver main event. Cortez stepped up on short notice to face Rose Namajunas, but on Friday, she originally tipped the scales at 126.5lbs, just 0.5lbs over the 126lbs limit. She had an additional hour to try and make weight, but Cortez decided the easier way was to cut her hair, and she told her manager Tiki Ghosn to cut her hair.

The only problem is, Strickland has been opposed to the idea because he feels he’s due for another title fight given how close his split decision loss to Du Plessis was.
