UFC President Dana White met with undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov during today’s UFC Fight Island 7 broadcast. Nurmagomedov (29-0 MMA) had retired from mixed martial arts immediately following his submission victory over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. ‘The Eagle’ cited the death of his father as one of the major reasons behind his decision to walk away.

UFC lightweight Michael Chandler says he would pick up an “out of shape” Nate Diaz and slam him on his neck if they ever fight. Chandler is set to make his UFC debut next Saturday on Fight Island when he takes on Dan Hooker in the co-main event of UFC 257. Chandler is completely focused on Hooker and knows that his UFC future depends on him getting the win in that one, but that doesn’t mean fans and media aren’t looking ahead to other opponents. During an AMA on his Instagram Live, one fan asked Chandler what he thinks about a potential fight with Diaz. This is what “Iron” had to say about the Stockton native.

Villaneuva is currently 0-2 in the UFC, but his first loss against Chase Sherman should be overturned to a no-contest due to Sherman being flagged by USADA. However, Villaneuva knows he still lost that fight, and in his last one, lost by cut stoppage which was heartbreaking for him.

The main events of the three cards see Max Holloway take on Calvin Kattar, Neil Magny vs. Michael Chiesa, and Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor 2. However, for UFC commentator, Brendan Fitzgerald, he knows those are good fights but says Tyson Nam vs. Matt Schnell has all the capabilities of being the best fight of the week.

Craig and Hill are ranked right next to each other in the lower half of the top-15 in the UFC’s 205lbs division, with Craig No. 14 and Hill at No. 15, so this is the perfect fight when it comes to the rankings. MMAjunkie.com was the first to confirm that Craig will fight Hill on March 20. That’s the UFC Fight Night card featuring Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev in the main event. Craig vs. Hill figures to take a place on the evening’s main card, and could potentially even serve as the co-main.
