Beneil Dariush doesn’t think Michael Chandler should get a title shot if he defeats Dustin Poirier. Chandler received a UFC title shot after knocking out Dan Hooker in his Octagon debut. After losing to Charles Oliveira for the vacant title, ‘Iron’ then dropped a unanimous decision to Justin Gaethje. He most recently got back into the win column with a nasty knockout over Tony Ferguson.

Kevin Holland is indeed retiring from MMA. After Holland’s UFC 279 first-round submission loss to Khamzat Chimaev, ‘Trailblazer’ shockingly announced his retirement from MMA. The news came just a few days after his tough loss, so many people didn’t think he was being serious, including Dana White. Yet, Holland on his podcast confirmed he is retired.

After Dillashaw tried to become a champ-champ by dropping down to flyweight, it was revealed he failed a drug test and was suspended for two years. Upon his return, Dillashaw defeated Cory Sandhagen by split decision to earn a title shot. Dillashaw will now face Sterling in the co-main event of UFC 280 and although he is being drug tested by USADA, the champ thinks Dillashaw is still using.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 61, a top-10 strawweight bout headlined the card as Mackenzie Dern took on Yan Xiaonan. Dern entered the fight coming off a split decision win over Tecia Torres to return to the win column after a five-round decision loss to Marina Rodriguez in her first UFC main event. Xiaonan, meanwhile, was set to headline her first UFC card and was coming off back-to-back losses to Rodriguez by split decision and a TKO loss to Carla Esparza.
