UFC president Dana White has confirmed that the promotion is working on booking Aljamain Sterling vs TJ Dillashaw. Ever since returning from his two-year EPO suspension, TJ Dillashaw has had a notable chip on his shoulder. After all of the mockery and teasing he’s received as a result of the decision made by USADA, the former two-time champion was eager to get back in the cage and prove what he could do.

Aljamain Sterling says his title defense against TJ Dillashaw is not a done deal. On late Wednesday night, it was reported that Sterling was set to fight Dillashaw at UFC 279 on September 10 at a location TBD. However, on Thursday he took to his YouTube channel to reveal he hasn’t signed his contract and is holding out for more money.

Chael Sonnen seemingly agrees with TJ Dillashaw’s criticism of UFC rival Cody Garbrandt. TJ Dillashaw has met Cody Garbrandt in the Octagon twice. In November of 2017 at UFC 217 Dillashaw (18-4 MMA) defeated Garbrandt (12-5 MMA) with a second round knockout, reclaiming his UFC Bantamweight Championship. Meeting again in August of 2018 at UFC 227, the result was much the same, Dillashaw finished Garbrandt via first round TKO, defending his crown.

Aljamain Sterling has blasted TJ Dillashaw for suggesting Petr Yan will win their rematch at UFC 273. Sterling and Yan first met at UFC 259 in March of 2021 in a highly-anticipated bout. As the fight was playing out it appeared the Russian was taking over and on his way to a win, but he then threw an illegal knee and Sterling could not continue. With that, Yan was DQ’d and Sterling became the new champ.
