Tito Ortiz vs. Anderson Silva Triller boxing match booked

A boxing matchup between former UFC champions Tito Ortiz and Anderson Silva is being targeted to take place on September 11 for Triller. MMAFighting.com’s Guilherme Cruz was the first to report that Ortiz vs. Silva is being targeted for September 11. We know that Silva had been looking for his next opponent in boxing after beating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. back in June, and we knew that Ortiz was hoping to make a comeback to combat sports at some point, as well. So now we get the two legends of MMA putting on the boxing gloves and meeting in the ring this September. The bout will serve on the undercard of the Oscar de la Hoya vs. Vitor Belfort PPV event.

Dillon Danis offers to fight Tito Ortiz following news of his planned 2021 return

According to Daily Mail, Ortiz has collected $179-per-week checks from the United States government after applying for COVID-19 relief. Ortiz has reportedly been collecting the relief checks since July 2020 despite the fact that he has been the Huntington Beach pro tem mayor since November 2020, a position that pays him $1400 a month.

Combate Americas interested in booking Tito Ortiz vs. Yoel Romero

Hispanic MMA promotion Combate Americas says it would be interested in booking a 205lbs matchup between Tito Ortiz and Yoel Romero. Romero was released by the UFC last week as part of the promotion’s plan to cut 60 fighters from the roster. Since becoming a free agent, Romero has surprisingly drawn little interest on the free-agent market. Bellator president Scott Coker said that his promotion isn’t interested in signing Romero, and we haven’t heard much from other MMA organizations such as PFL or ONE Championship, though BKFC has shown interest. Right now, it looks like Romero will have to consider all of his options.
