In an interview with Ariel Helwani of ESPNESPN, Cormier said he will be returning to the Octagon for the final fight of his career. The card also featured the return of the fan favorite Nate Diaz, who took on Anthony Pettis in the co-main event. In the end, Miocic TKO’d Cormier in the fourth round to reclaim the heavyweight title. Diaz, meanwhile, beat Pettis by unanimous decision to get back into the win column.
