But with coronavirus-related travel restrictions, especially for international fighters, UFC president Dana White recently admitted that he isn’t sure where fights are going to be held in the coming months.

It’s Poirier’s second straight win following a decision over Dan Hooker in his last outing, and he’s won six of his last seven fights overall. His only loss during that stretch came against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. But the Russian is essentially retired right now, and therefore there will have to be a new champion.

With Alvey entering this matchup on a five-fight winless skid, his spot on the UFC could be in jeopardy with another loss. With UFC president Dana White announcing a few months ago that the promotion is going to cut 60 fighters, many thought that Alvey could be among the cuts. However, the UFC is going to give him one more chance to win.

White said this week that one of the biggest illegal streaming websites was under surveillance by the UFC, and ultimately that website did not put up the event. At the UFC 257 post-fight press conference, White further explained how they caught the streamer and pointed to what’s next.
