Dern entered the fight coming off an impressive submission win over Nina Nunes which was her fourth win in a row. Rodriguez, meanwhile, was combining off her first UFC main event where she beat Michelle Waterson by decision, and before that, she scored a vicious KO over Amanda Ribas.

It’s expected that the winner of that fight will take on the winner of Adesanya vs. Robert Whittaker 2 for the 185lbs belt. If Brunson does get by Cannonier and fight Adesanya again, it would be a rematch for him. The first time he fought Adesanya, Brunson was knocked out at UFC 230 back in 2018.

A convenience store clerk one punch knocked out an irate shopper in a viral video that was making the rounds on social media this weekend. In the video, a customer appears to get into a disagreement with the convenience store clerk. The video does not have any audio, so you can not hear what the two men say to each other, but it is clear there was a major disagreement over something, and it escalated into violence. After the clerk emerged from behind his booth, the customer shoved him. The two then decided to throw down, and the convenience store clerk got the best of the customer as he landed a brutal right hand right down that pipe that knocked him out cold.

Chuck Liddell reportedly arrested for domestic violence

UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell was reportedly arrested for domestic violence and he is currently sitting in a Los Angeles jail. TMZ Sports reported that Liddell was arrested on Monday morning. According to TMZ, the “L.A. Sherriff’s Department received a call about a fight at a Liddell’s San Fernando Valley home. When cops arrived, they investigated, and determined the 51-year-old former fighter was involved in a verbal argument that turned physical.”

Guillard took on Riggs in a bare-knuckle boxing match in Billings, Montana on Saturday night. Riggs won the fight early in the first round when he caught Guillard with a big punch that sent him through the ropes. It was a huge punch, and Guillard immediately collapsed to the mat and held his face. It turns out that Guillard ended up breaking his orbital bone.

TJ Dillashaw says he's next in line for the UFC bantamweight title shot

UFC bantamweight contender TJ Dillashaw says he’s been told by the promotion that he is next in line to fight for the 135lbs title. Dillashaw defeated Cory Sandhagen via split decision in his return to the Octagon back in July. For Dillashaw, it was his first fight since losing to Henry Cejudo at UFC on ESPN+ 1 in January 2019. Of course, that fight took place at 125lbs, when Dillashaw was attempting to become a two-division champion. The 135lbs champion at the time, Dillashaw vacated his title after he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. After serving his ban for two years, Dillashaw was able to come back and he picked up a huge win over Sandhagen. By beating Sandhagen, Dillashaw was expected to get the next title shot at 135lbs after the champion Aljamain Sterling and his rival Petr Yan had their rematch take place at UFC 267.

Former UFC fighter Brendan Loughnane was among the alternate fighters named for the upcoming PFL $1 million tournament finals. Loughnane competed once in the Octagon in 2012, losing a decision to Mike Wilkinson. After putting in the work on the regional scene, Loughnane made his way to Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019. However, while he did win a decision over Bill Algeo, White passed on signing Loughnane to a UFC contract due to shooting for a takedown in the final 10 seconds of the fight. In a cruel twist of fate, Algeo would later be signed to the UFC.

UFC women’s strawweight contender Mackenzie Dern released a statement following her decision loss to Marina Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 39. Dern lost a unanimous decision to Rodriguez in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 39, which was the “Fight of the Night.” It was a fantastic back-and-forth fight between the two 115lbs contenders, but it was Rodriguez who ultimately walked away with the win after out striking her opponent for the majority of the 25 minutes. Although Dern did have some strong points in the fight with her ground game, overall she was beaten to the punch on the feet. Still, it was an awesome fight and Dern gained plenty of respect for her performance in the fight. Despite losing, she went a hard 25 minutes and showed heart.

Heavyweight boxing contender Deontay Wilder reacted after being KO’d by Tyson Fury in their trilogy fight on Saturday night in Las Vegas. In one of the greatest heavyweight boxing matches of all time, Wilder and Fury went 11 hard rounds before Fury eventually got the knockout stoppage. It was an epic war as both men dropped each other at numerous points during the fight, but at the end of the match, it was Fury who was the better man. Still, it was an incredible performance by Wilder even in his defeat, as he showed incredible toughness and durability up until the finish.

UFC women’s strawweight contender Marina Rodriguez says that former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk should be removed from the UFC rankings. Rodriguez defeated Mackenzie Dern via unanimous decision in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 39 event. It was a tremendous performance by Rodriguez, who outstruck Dern for the majority of the rounds and who defended Dern’s submission attempts when the fight hit the ground. The victory will elevate Rodriguez into the top five of the women’s strawweight division, and at this point, she is probably one win away from a title shot.

UFC lightweight fighter Luis Pena was arrested for the second time in 2021 after allegedly “putting hands on two women.” On Saturday, Pena was arrested and jailed in Deerfield Beach, Florida on misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and battery. He has been booked at the Broward County Jail in Fort Lauderdale. This is the second time in 2021 that Pena has been arrested. Back in June, he was arrested on felony charges of robbery, battery, and criminal mischief. Following the latest arrest, MMAjunkie.com obtained a statement about the incident.

The UFC lightweight contender got his visa on incredibly short notice, but despite the circumstances, he went out there and put on an incredible performance. A few days after that, Hooker decided to step up and take the fight that no one else wants. He will now fight Islam Makhachev at UFC 267 later this month. The fact that he is stepping up on short notice to fight someone like Makhachev shows how much of a stud that he is, and his fellow UFC fighters, such as O’Malley, have nothing but respect for what Hooker’s doing.

UFC analyst Joe Rogan reacted after Tyson Fury knocked out Deontay Wilder in trilogy their trilogy, stating “all hail the Gypsy King.” In one of the craziest heavyweight boxing matches of all time, Fury knocked out Wilder in the 11th round after a back-and-forth fight where both fighters were knocked down several times. It was an incredible war between two of the best heavyweight boxers we have ever seen, but at the end of the fight, it was Fury getting his hand raised yet again. Fury is now 2-0-1 overall in the trilogy against Wilder and he’s proven that he is the better man. But regardless of Fury being the better boxer, Wilder certainly proved his toughness in the trilogy fight. It was an amazing fight and after, Rogan had nothing but good things to say.

The Octagon remained in Nevada for today’s UFC Vegas 39 event, a nine-bout fight card headlined by strawweights Mackenzie Dern and Marina Rodriguez. The highly anticipated main event proved to be a classic strikes versus grappler matchup. Marina Rodriguez was able to simply outclass Mackenzie Dern while on the feet, but the jiu-jitsu wizard nearly finished the fight in round three thanks to her submission game. Despite her best efforts Dern could not overcome the striking prowess of Rodriguez and wound up losing the five-round contest on points.
