Ahead of his return, former UFC champion Conor McGregor has decided to reminiscence. ‘The Notorious’ is slated to return to the octagon later this year against Michael Chandler. While the fight date, and even the weight class the bout will take place in is still to be determined, McGregor is looking in prime condition. The Irishman has likely been aided by his ability to leave the USADA testing pool after breaking his leg in July 2021.

Dana White has announced two more fights for UFC 290. After White did a special announcement announcing several key fights on Thursday, he did it again on Friday with three fights for UFC 290 on July 8 – which serves as International Fight Week. First, White announced that Robert Whittaker will take on Dricus Du Plessis in a title eliminator bout. Now, the UFC boss announced that Dan Hooker will return at UFC 290 against Jalin Turner.

A title eliminator fight at middleweight will be going down at UFC 290. On Friday, Dana White took to social media to announce Robert Whittaker will take to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 290 on July 8 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. White also announced the fight is an official title eliminator as the winner will get the next middleweight title shot against Adesanya. This comes a day after White announced several middleweight fights including Vettori-Cannonier and Strickland-Magomedov among others.

Bellator flyweight contender Ray Borg is once again back in hot water for missing weight. ‘The Tazmexican Devil’ has been out of the cage since his clash with Ricky Bandejas at Eagle FC 46 in March. In that outing, Borg outworked the Bellator veteran en route to a split-decision win. The victory was the flyweight’s third in a row since leaving the UFC in 2020. That August, Borg was released from the promotion due to weight issues.

He knew Nicolau was good, but he thought his style and him being able to push the pace could create openings. Dana White took to social media and announced several key fights for a number of upcoming UFC events. White took to Instagram Live to reveal some key fights and among them was Gilbert Burns vs. Belal Muhammad, which is slated for five rounds as the new co-main event of UFC 288 on May 6. The fight could serve as a title eliminator which is why it is five rounds, but it’s a big boost to the pay-per-view card which recently lost Oliveira-Dariush.

UFC heavyweight contender Sergei Pavlovich is hoping to earn a win on Saturday, but he knows it won’t come easy. The Russian has been out of action since his clash with Tai Tuivasa in December. In that outing, Pavlovich scored a first-round knockout win, his fifth in a row. In that stretch, the heavyweight contender had picked up stoppage victories over names such as Derrick Lewis and Shamil Abdurakhimov.
Frank Mir set for retirement fight at UFL 3 in August on the same card his daughter Bella competes

Frank Mir has gotten his wish. Mir has been vocal about wanting his retirement fight to take place on the same card that his daughter Bella fights on. Well, United Fight League (UFL) announced on Brendan Schaub’s show that Mir will compete at UFL 3 against an opponent TBD. Bella will also compete on the card, with her opponent also yet to be revealed. Both fights have been agreed to for August 12 in Phoenix, Arizona.

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is all about activity. ‘The Great’ has been out of the cage since his move to lightweight in February. Volkanovski jumped to 155 pounds to face the newly crowned champion, Islam Makhachev. The Russian dominated Charles Oliveira last October to win the gold but didn’t have as easy of a time with the featherweight champion.

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has an idea in mind for his final fight. ‘The Spider’ has been out of action since his clash with Jake Paul last October. The two headlined a Showtime Boxing pay-per-view event, in the Brazilian’s fourth appearance since leaving the UFC in 2020. While he picked up wins over Tito Ortiz and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in the boxing ring after his exit, he didn’t have as much success against ‘The Problem Child’.

Roy Nelson will be fighting for the first time since 2020. On Thursday, Jorge Masvidal took to his Instagram to announce he is promoting Gamebred FC – which is a bareknuckle MMA promotion – on May 5 and they have its main event. According to Masvidal, Nelson, who’s 46-years-old, will take on Dillon Cleckler in the headliner from the FLA Live Arena. It also serves as the first sanctioned bareknuckle MMA event in the state of Florida.
