Nicolas Dalby returned to the Octagon in front of a home crowd at tonight’s UFC Copenhagen event for a welterweight bout with Alex Oliveira. After a tough opening round, The Dane would turn the tide in rounds two and three and ultimately walked away with a unanimous decision victory.

The octagon invades Denmark for today’s UFC Copenhagen event, a fourteen-bout fight card headlined by a middleweight tilt between Jack Hermansson vs. Jared Cannonier. Jack Hermansson (20-4 MMA) will enter tonight’s event on a four-fight winning streak, his latest being a unanimous decision victory over former Strikeforce champion Ronaldo Souza this past April.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm has suffered an injury and will no longer be able to compete at next Saturday’s UFC 243 event. The news comes from ESPN‘s Ariel Helwani, who reported the following information on Twitter:
Michael Venom Page accuses referee Dan Miragliotta of foul treatment

Bellator welterweight Michael Venom Page was not at all happy about the treatment he received from referee Dan Miragliotta during his fight in Dublin. Page (15-1 MMA) scored another highlight-reel knockout over opponent Richard Kiely at Friday’s Bellator Europe 4 event, sending his outmatched opponent crashing to the canvas from a flying knee.
Wanderlei Silva signs with Bare Knuckle FC

Mixed Martial Arts legend Wanderlei Silva is not hanging up the gloves just yet and instead has signed a deal to fight under the Bare Knuckle FC banner. The news comes from FanSided who reported earlier that the now 43-year-old ‘Axe Murderer’ has signed a deal with Bare Knuckle FC.
Three title fights now official for December's UFC 245 event

UFC 245 officially has three title fights as it was announced that Kamaru Usman will be defending his welterweight title at the December 14 event in Las Vegas. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is set to headline the fight card opposite former interim title holder Colby Covington.
Wrestling star Mark O. Madsen chooses UFC over the Olympics

Mark O. Madsen has carved out the type of successful wrestling career that some athletes can only dream of. He is the first Danish wrestler since 1948 to earn a medal at the Olympics and was a four-time medalist at the World Wrestling Championships. Despite making a name for himself in the wrestling world, he is ready to risk it all for a shot in the UFC. The 35-year old is a three-time Olympian in Greco-Roman wrestling and took home silver at the Rio Olympics in 2016. His position within the sport and role in the Danish Wrestling Foundation secured Madsen a healthy salary for the past 6 years. Moving to the UFC halfway through his 30s in a country where MMA coverage is still in its infancy was not an easy decision, but a risk worth taking.

Rising Bellator star James Gallagher returned to the cage at Bellator Dublin on Friday — though not against the man he initially expected. When his original opponent Cal Ellenor was forced off the card, Gallagher was forced to shift his focus to late replacement, UFC veteran Roman Salazar. The Bellator Dublin card, of which Gallagher vs. Salazar was a part, aired live on Friday afternoon on the Bellator MMA app. Unlike the Bellator 227 portion of this event it will not air on tape delay later tonight.

On Friday afternoon, amid the Bellator 227 and Bellator Dublin festivities in Dublin, Ireland, British knockout artist Michael Page returned to the cage in hopes of rebounding from his first pro MMA loss: a knockout at the hands of the former welterweight champ Douglas Lima. Page’s opponent in this crucial return to action was his heated rival, Richard Kiely. The Bellator Dublin card, of which Page vs. Kiely was a part, aired live on Friday afternoon on the Bellator MMA app. Unlike the Bellator 227 portion of this event it will not air on tape delay later tonight.

Peter Queally put forth an incredible performance at Bellator Dublin, smashing Ryan Scope to a second-round TKO after very nearly being stopped himself earlier in the round. This comeback win was so epic that Irish MMA superstar Conor McGregor approached the cage to celebrate with his countryman. Shortly after Ryan Bader and Cheick Kongo’s Bellator 226 title fight was ruled a no contest due to an inadvertent eye poke, Bader and Kongo’s training partner Quinton “Rampage” Jackson nearly got into it. UFC legend Tank Abbott, an other Kongo stablemate, attempted to join in the fracas, but couldn’t make his way to the cage.

So, “The Highlight” is confident he will be able to keep the fight on the feet and force Nurmagomedov to stand and trade with him.
