The bout pitted him against Brazilian berserker Michel Pereira. Fabia, who calls himself a “self-awareness coach” and has no real martial arts experience, was the lone person in Sanchez’s corner for this fight, and he had some interesting advice for the fighter between rounds.

The Polish fighter sealed the deal via first-round knockout. Heading into this matchup, Anderson was widely viewed as the next man in like for UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. In victory, however, Blachowicz seemingly leapfrogged the American, and potentially locked up his own shot at Jones.

Corey Anderson was looking to earn a title shot with Jon Jones with a victory over Jan Blachowicz at tonight’s UFC Rio Rancho event in New Mexico. Unfortunately for ‘Beastin’, Blachowicz found a home for a big right hand in the opening round which sent him crashing to the canvas. From there, Jan delivered a thunderous hammer fist that ended Anderson’s night for good.

While the company is enjoying more financial success than ever, many of its fighters still don’t make enough to get by, oftentimes having to take other jobs to survive and even start crowdfunding campaigns when things get tough. A recent report from the New York Post puts the UFC’s spending in perspective. To put it simply, only a small portion of the company’s revenue ends up in the pockets of the fighters.
