Former UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo said that he believes Demetrious Johnson is the greatest MMA fighter of all time, otherwise known as the GOAT. Cejudo shocked the MMA community when he retired immediately after knocking out Dominick Cruz in the main event of UFC 249. The former UFC bantamweight and flyweight champ said that he is retiring to start a family. “Triple C” said that he’s happy with what he’s accomplished in his MMA career and he is proud to go out on the top of his game.

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has issued a statement following Justin Gaehje’s TKO win over Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 249. Gaethje took Ferguson to the cleaners, picking him apart with big shots for nearly five full rounds until the referee stepped in and stopped the fight with just over a minute left in the final round. It was the biggest win of Gaethje’s UFC career to date and he now owns the interim UFC lightweight title. That means he has earned himself a chance to unify the belt against Nurmagomedov later this year.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo suggested four fighters who should participate in a tournament to crown the new 135lbs champion. Cejudo shocked the sports world when he abruptly retired following a second-round TKO win over Dominick Cruz in the co-main event of UFC 249. Cejudo is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport right now and for him to retire at the top of his game was a surprise to nearly every fan watching the event, as it seemed to come out of nowhere.

UFC interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje explained why he felt bad for Tony Ferguson following the main event of UFC 249. Gaethje beat Ferguson to the punch for nearly 25 minutes until the referee stepped in and stopped the fight just before the final minute late in the fifth round. It was the most complete performance of Gaethje’s career and proves that he’s an elite fighter at 155lbs. For Gaethje to go in there and systematically dominate Ferguson for nearly five full rounds, it was absolutely incredible to watch.

UFC bantamweight contender Dominick Cruz accused referee Keith Peterson of smelling like “alcohol and cigarettes” in the UFC 249 co-main event. Cruz suffered a second-round TKO loss to Henry Cejudo in a failed bid to re-capture the UFC bantamweight title. The finish was not without controversy as many felt Peterson stopped the fight too soon after Cejudo dropped Cruz with a knee and then swarmed him with punches. Some believe the referee made a good call in stopping the fight when he did, but others including Cruz himself believe it was a bad call.

The fight was stopped at the end of the second round following a decisive performance from “Triple C”, who wound up retiring from mixed martial arts in the immediate aftermath of his win.

Tonight at UFC 249 at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, Jeremy Stephens faced off against Calvin Kattar. Their featherweight collision got off to a hasty start as Stephens came in at 150.5 lbs during the weigh-in, 4.5 pounds over the 145 lbs weight division. Kattar also tipped the scaled at 146 pounds, but he entered the fight as a -230 favorite (according to BetOnline).

The former Dallas Cowboys player has experienced mixed results in MMA, such as his disqualification loss to Allen Crowder in his UFC debut. He bounced back with two knockout wins against Juan Adams and Dmitri Smoliakov. In his last two performances, Greg Hardy received a no-contest against Ben Sosoli and a unanimous-decision loss against Alexander Volkov in November 2019.

Werdum (23-8-1 MMA) had not competed since suffering a knockout loss to Alexander Volkov in March of 2018. Following his setback to Volkov, the Brazilian submission specialist was flagged by USADA for the banned substance Trenbolone and received a two-year suspension.
